Clear coat on wheels peeling badly

Dealership said they have to call a GM rep since these are considered "special" rims. They have to ask if these need to be repainted or order a new set. Still no word from my dealership though. I wish I can just swap them out for a different set of wheels.

That's a gm rim just painted black. That design started with the chevy ss trucks back in 2003 imo.

Maybe because they are made in Taiwan instead of China?

If you live in states that use mag chloride for ice control and just about all of them do in winter conditions any and all wheels just simply get attacked by this extra corrosive chemical. In your case tho it appears poor paint adhesion to wheel.

They are putting on some real crappy wheels. I saw the other day that mine had China stamped on the back side. Real junk yet they keep asking more for these trucks.

My 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix wheels have Made in China stamped on the back of them.....nothing new for GM.

If you like the design the best would be to get gm to pay for them to be powder coated. It would hold up much better.
