2016 truck owners need your input

I have a 2016 and it is fine. I have driven hundreds of 2016 models since last november (I work at a dealership) I have not felt one iota of this vibration issue. We are the #6 chevy dealership in the country as well, over 400 cars a month.

My personal 2016 lt allstar lt plus with factory 17"'s is smooth as butter.

All of you guys complaining about vibration - DO YOU HAVE THE STOCK WHEELS / TIRES ON?

If not - then really you all know what to look at first.

I have not heard ONE COMPLAINT from anyone other than those that have added aftermarket equipment to their vehicles. This is usually the case with most things of this nature in my experience.

Smooth 2016 here all speeds on factory 18's w/ b stone's and now with 20's w/toyo at2's.

Don't want to burst your bubble but, there's A LOT of stock trucks that have vibration, mine included.

You sir, are INSANE to start blanketing "guys complaining about vibration" must have aftermarket wheels/tires!?!?! I have had THREE new GM trucks 14, 14, now '15 - both 14's shook, 1 w/ 18"S and another w/ 20"s - the 20" SRA equipped truck was probably a 6 outta 10 on the vibration scale - everyone (at GM & the dealer that is) acknowledged it - performed the Pica test, swapped driveshafts, road force balanced, swapped tires/wheels, etc. - ALL of the "fixes"

End result was 2 GM engineers admitting that "all the new trucks vibrate to one degree or another" (wish I recorded that statement) and that there's really no fix for it has to do w/ misaligned drivetrain components, overly stiff mounting points, among some of the reasoning those seemed to be most plausible.

My '15 "doesn't vibrate" compared to "bad" GM trucks, but it DOES vibrate - I would put it at a 2/10 on a scale. I can live with it. My guess was the '16 trucks would have had this addressed, sounds like that may not be the case.

My advice is same as many others - test drive the hell outta one, and if you find a model you are set on take it home for a 36 hr trial or something. I think the percentage of trucks w/ "bad vibes" is probably exaggerated if you're basing it off this forum it seems like 1/2 of them are terrible....probably not the case, but if you told me 20% are bad...well I wouldn't blink an eye.

Last thing I'll say is that doesn't mean I'm against GM trucks in general - I was mad as hell that my truck vibrated and they couldn't fix it, then it got totaled, I went shopping around and was close to pulling the trigger on a RAM powerwagon....but I'm not 5600 miles into a /15 All terrain w/ 6.2 and am happy w/ the decision. Do your research, go on test drives, all the major brands have issues.

BS, quit selling the kool aid, I've now had 2 vibrators. Test driving doesn't help, mine both started after a few hundred miles. You're just rolling the dice with these things.

Well my '14 had the shakes since new. I really love the truck but I just cant take it anymore.

Yes my truck is all stock on 20" wheels.

My truck has seen all fixes and still shakes. I just got one of the ones that cant be fixed. I just hope the '16 is smooth. (Fingers crossed)

Actually if you would have been here since 14 when these trucks were released you would know that the majority of complaints stem from factory oem equipped trucks. Many with not even a thousand miles on the clock.

Of course we are talking a small sample size compared to the amount of these trucks made, but yeah they have a problem and we would not see the amount of buy backs from gm if there were not, heck some have not only had a buy back, but had a buy back for the buy back and are on truck number 3!

And not to burst your bubble but the majority of actual fixes stem for those oem rims and tires your talking about because gm clearly uses the cheapest tire rim combo they can find in most cases. Most dealers first point of attack are changing the tires and then rims if a road balance doesn't solve it.
