My best 400 miles was 22.x, 50 miles 26.8, and best 25 miles was 32.0. I like the fuel economy in my Silverado, it's a large upgrade from the 12-13mpg my TBSS got, just doesnt put a smile on my face when I hit the gas like the TBSS did!

My DIC said my "best" 50 mile was 25-something.

 

I don't think I've ever seen it hang on 25+mpg for more than a few seconds. No way that's an average over 50 miles. Personally I tend to just look at the MPG that comes in on the trip meter... and there my best average over a 50 mile stretch was ~21. All highway with light traffic and cruise set at 65 with the climate control off. (Seems the A/C is good for about 1-1.5mpg)

From my experience it's not far off. I went to Kansas City from Central Texas when I bought my truck, averaged 21mpg round trip calculating at the pump. My Best 400 miles mpg was 22.x on the way back on that trip.

Testing another 60 mph cruise control trip to and from work to see how many miles I can rack up. Got my best ever 25 mile mpg's of 31. Looks by forward to upper 500 miles, maybe even a 600 mile tank. Oh and I love everything about this truck. Looks awesome, comfortable ride. Interior rocks! 2016 z71 dc black in color with black front end and rear bumper!!

Well I'm happy to report that things are getting even better! Today I took a trip to our Hunting Camp to do some habitat work. I cleared Trip B and set out. It was in the 90's here so I had the air on and there was some Holiday traffic. The trip back n forth was 320 miles. The average MPG was 26.4...that's 26.4!!! I'm a very happy camper. My best 400 mile average is now 25.4 and my lifetime average with 7786 is 20.3!

GM got it right boys! :thumbs:

After a level and LT tires, mine still gets around 18 on the highway and I'm happy! I just got a Range device and am curious to see if my mileage will change.

Loved my '14 Silverado LTZ Z71 so much that I traded it for a 2016 GMC Sierra SLT Z71. Really surprised at the improvements over the '14. The 8spd rocks.

You know I hate to bust all you silverado and sierra owners that believe that DIC information concerning ACTUAL fuel mileage is accurate, because my finding with the two different 2014 silverado I own, to be about two miles per gallon less than the figures from the DIC, when you take actual miles driven and number gallons put in tank. That being said I am tickled pink with my mileage I'm getting.

No Way? Can't be that off.....Look at all the Fast Lane Truck comparisons the Chevy is usually the closest after final tally....It's off but not 2mpg's

did another fill up, the computer shows 18.5MPG but manual calculations is saying 17.66. Off by nearly 1 MPG

Given the electronics, etc. used to calculate - I'm impressed it is within 1 MPG.

Nah...you're not busting our bubble! It might be off a little, but even if it's off the 2MPG you say, it's still way better than the gas guzzling ugly jap crap Tundra!

      How many years have I pointed out every point in that link to the folks here and been avalanched with criticisms and outright hostilities at times? I ran counter to even the great CUSTOMBOSS and Lake Speed Jr and the half dozen experts on YouTube and in the final.....GM, Physics (Stribeck) backs that Grumpy old Bear.    Honestly, I never said a thing engineering hadn't studied silly and laid in concrete during WWII. But I'm old, the information is old and yet, the Laws of Physics are eternal.    Okay there is one exception. I vehemently disagree with their use of the word 'tolerances' when what it meant is "clearance".   The clearance is the distance between two objects. The tolerance is the degree of acceptable variation permitted in that clearance. I.E., piston to bore clearance is 0.004" with a tolerance of +/- .0002" so the clearance is in specification if it lies between 0.0038" and 0.0042". Cutting that 'tolerance in half has ZERO impact on lubrication requirements. Makes for more difficulty in manufacturing.  But a tighter clearance 'MAY'. Depends on finish. Anyway....   It's one of those statements made by people to make themselves look smarter than they are to convince people who are as un-enlighten as they seem to manipulate their behaviors. But hey, the blind leading the blind puts them both in the pit.

      Out and about yesterday on a long Saturday drive I passed a lot of Shell stations. My preferred, so I pay attention. Lot's of small town Illinois so not six stations in three blocks like the city.    Everyone of them over a radius of say 100 miles had regular at $4.19 but one which was the one closest to home at $4.15. However Premium pricing varied greatly between 85 cents over regular to $1.50 over. I'm not counting the price of the station with the lowest regular so the reference is the same for the remainder and all within the same brand. However the spread discrepancy holds across all brands.     @txab, any thoughts on that?

      What are your thoughts? The Chevy Blazer relaunch was an epic case of 'lunchbag letdown'. Jeep Wranglers and Ford Broncos stick out like a sore thumb.    The AI photos do not look like a 'retro version', but shrunken Tahoes. Get away from the 'futuristic look'. I've seen two concepts. One had rectangular headlight like a Rivian and the other way to big should include dual round headlights like the early version.   If not this would look OK   At least it has GM styling (albeit the K2XX) A lot of the images floating around look like Bronco IIs or the current Bronco. Looking at the Broncos in my area (central Ontario, it seems to be a mix of 2 doors and 4 doors, 'mall rated' to ones that could go offroad.    I'm sure a AT4 and AT4X RPOs could be outfitted similar to a Rubicon if the braintrust understood the whole offroad scene. Crosing my fingers that if it does see the light that the front air dam/bumper doesn't extend below the center line of the tire...
