Has anyone noticed that the 16's have an added protective rubber piece to the bottom front of the bed?

 

Added chip protection I assume?

 

I want those on my 15.

those were on the 14 also.

It's not on the first 16's to come out. My son picked up his in December and it did not have these. I ordered mine and took delivery March 1st and it had them. Both trucks are crew cab Z71 LTZ's.

Pretty sure you are thinking about the plastic in front of the rear tire not the plastic at the front lower corner of the bed. I have looked at a lot of 14 and 15 trucks. Purchased a few too. Never seen any of those until 2016 no matter cab or bed configuration or trim differences. I guess anything is possible but i am 99.999999% sure.

Cool. No need to take pics etc. It is not that big of a deal in life. Like i said anything is possible.

No big deal. I do like them. I kinda wish my Sierra had them instead of the plastic all the way around the fender well.

Maybe he added them? A friend of mine works at a large Chev dealer and said has not seen those until the 2016's started showing up.

No big deal. I do like them. I kinda wish my Sierra had them instead of the plastic all the way around the fender well.

My 2016 Sierra Denali has them along with the plastic mldg that goes all the way around.
