Wow....Either I am old or people forget or just don't know............

 

We all know I absolutely loathe FORD and their over engineered products....Just the Fox platform alone was enough to kill me? And people like it?

 

Anywho GM actually invented the HEMI and sold it off to Chrysler decades ago people......It was a GM invented Hemispherical shaped combustion chamber and Chrysler was sold the rights decades ago.......................................It's now gone on to URBAN LEGEND as something from outer space!

Neither GM nor Chrysler developed the first hemispherical combustion chamber. That distinction is a matter of some dispute, but BMW had an inline six in the mid 30's.

 

Chrysler's first hemi, the V-16 XIV 2220 was developed during WWII and tested in a P-47 in 1945. The Ardun hemi heads, used on the Ford flathead V8, were designed by Zora Duntov in 1947/1948 while he worked at the Ardun Mechanical Corporation, a company founded by him and his brother. Duntov joined GM in 1953.

God the ecodiesel is a slug. I thought I read the 5.7 HEMI as having around 6.7/6.8 0-60 time. Dodge needs some serious weight savings.
