Steering wheel bow tie

Has anyone removed/replaced the bow tie on the steering wheel? Something about that gold bow tie does not look right and was looking to plastidip/paint it. Is it just adhesive on the back of it?

That thing reflects sunlight right into your eyes too! I have the black interior so IDK how it would look blacked out, but I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like.

I don't really want a decal. Just like the black bow ties on the exterior I have, no decal but matte black.

 

I also have the black interior on a white truck. Thought about a white emblem but I don't think I'd like that very much.

The Carbon Fiber somewhat matches the trim in the truck (at least mine Z71).

I think Matte Black would be a good call then.

 

I just can't stand Gold, nor do I really like Chrome.

I hate chrome. Problem is I can't find a black bow tie badge for the steering wheel lol. Plus the matte black will look nice due to some matte black exterior components I have too

Flat Black is an option in the drop down from Reflective Concepts. That'll probably look good still.

I took a small paint can top and sprayed some plastidip in it and applied it with a Q-Tip on my Steering Wheel Bowtie. PERFECT!
