Here's the Kings during install

Still haven't heard back from Cognito yet...

As a side note, in my opinion the King shocks are a small step up in fit and finish.

Edit: damn, I just realized the coilovers are on the wrong side lol. The reservoir hose will contact the UCA if I leave it as is...

I did notice that Spurshot's picture of his cognito's has the balljoint mounted below the UCA, and your congnito's, TheArizonaPatriot, are mounted on top.

Correct, Cognito now recommends the ball joints to be installed on top of the UCA.

I would assume if the ball joints were mounted on the bottom, it could have possibly caused more damage, but I can't say for certain.

As in contact the shock bucket/frame? Do your arms have any damage?

They have contact wear from rubbing on the clevis sides, same as you showed.

Well eventually it'll create the clearance it needs with the strut towers lol. Even with this issue I'm considering making the jump to the Fox 2.5's or Kings anyways. Your setup is badass btw.

Since we're on the subject of Cognito UCA's, I've always heard the Cognito ball joints aren't the greatest quality and tend to wear out sooner. I found equivalent part numbers a while back and figured I'd share.

Oh yeah! Those are effin sweet man. I have the fox 2.5 factory series res. and really like them but those kings are freakin cool

I actually have question regarding those cognito UCAs. How much travel do they add??? Big difference from the factory UCAs?

UPDATE:

Cognito got back to me regarding the issue. They said they have only heard of this two times prior to me and those were on the previous generation truck ('07-13') AND the ball joint was mounted on the underside of the UCA. They also mentioned they have only ran their UCAs in conjuction with the 2.5s from Fox, and never the 2.0s so that may be a factor in this.

They're looking into the 2.0s potentially being an issue and they'll get back to me.

Good news is, a simple trimming of the coil bucket, maybe 1/2"-3/4", would have been enough clearance to have avoided this.

I'll update you all again when I hear back!

I personally wouldn't go above 2-2.25" because it will make for a rougher ride. But I'm sure you could go to 2.5" or a little higher and still be "okay". Fox customer service was great when I called, I'm sure they would be happy to talk about the pros vs cons of adjusting over 2".
