No more aux battery tray for 2016

My 16 crew cab SLT has two trays, build date was in nov of 15 if that makes a difference. I have the 6.2 also if that changes things

Sounds like sometime after that date they 'reprogrammed whatever robot/machine was building these' to not add them in gassers any more and save a couple bucks. I doubt the 6.2 matters it is only there for diesel.

Are you sure the second empty tray will actually secure a battery. The tray in my vehicle from the factory was a 23231841 but I replaced it with a 22989633. The original tray lacked the threaded bolt hole for the retainer and the lip near the wheel well to lock the battery down. I've documented this with photos earlier in the thread.

I'm not sure about that, didn't really pay attention. I'll look in a few days when I change my oil

How did you guys end up in you quest for adding the second battery? From what I've gathered a group 48 is what fits in that tray

Doing exact built that tencourts did here, he was exactly right regarding the part numbers needed. I also had tray #23231841 installed from factory prior to replacing it with tray#22989633.

Tray and specs take 48PG AC Delco battery
