Framing is essentially complete! Installed all of the fireblocks last Friday, and we have started procuring the supplies to begin electrical rough in! We also did a test fit of the truck to make sure the passageway didn't take up too much room.

Electrical rough in is nearly complete! All that is left so far is the lights in the garage, and for an electrician to set the meter box, and the weatherhead, and then we will start the paperwork for DES to come and hook it up to the grid! I'm also considering burying an Ethernet cable from the house to get a proper Internet connection to it!

Things in the gun room have taken on a pink and blue hue, due to insulation going up today! And there is already a marked difference in both sound and temperature!

Well, the Train Room is now taking on that same blue and pink insulated hue that the gun room is sporting! And as you can see above the timber walls, we have started insulating the exposed metal walls with styrofoam to prevent radiant heat from entering the room and making the future HVAC system from having to work harder and run up a huge electric bill.

Well the Train Room is Ready for Drywall! Also, the passageway has been covered on the garage side with the metal that was cut out (and a bit more beside) to make the passageway; still waiting for an electrician to inspect the load center, and to set the meter box, weatherhead, and ground rod. Then we are going to rent some scaffolding to insulate the roof of the garage and finish running the Ethernet cable for the data connection in the Gun room. Then after that, we will start building the ductwork for the HVAC system.

Well, we are one step closer to having electricity flowing into the shop! Had to call around because a lot of the electricians around town are booked up solid for the next month! Managed to find a couple of local guys cheap; all that is left is the state inspection, and for DES to hook us up!

Well, the drywall hanging has commenced, as well as the first bits of ductwork for the HVAC system have been installed! And as of this post, the Train Room has ALL of its drywall up! And now for the bad news; Dickson Electric got a little butt hurt that we didn't call them right away for a checklist of things for us to do to make them happy about our meter box (they wanted it in a spot that would have looked ugly, as well as they wanted our weatherhead over 40 feet off the ground) so now they want to charge us $800 to put a stub pole in so they can run a power line to another pole without a transformer (and I get the feeling they are going to charge us for the transformer) even though there is a pole WITH a transformer about 90 feet diagonally from the weatherhead!
