BFG All-terrian T/A KO2 or Duratracs?

I'm debating between the Goodyear Duratrac or the BFG's. I'm looking at 33's for my stock 14 Silverado chrome 20's. Anyone have a strong opinion one way or the other on these? Anyone have pictures to post?

I have used BFG KO's for the last 2 and a half decades with no flats or tire related issues. All sets have gone 50,000+ were usually time gets to them with dry cracks as I don't put tons of miles on per year.

Not sure you will find someone with the same actual real world experience regarding Goodyear's as they are newer, I know the factory sra's were absolute rubbish though most oem tires are junk these days!

Yeah I had bfg's on my previous truck a had good luck with them just wasn't sure of the Duratracs or how they hold up. The SRA's on my truck are just about to go, so I'll need something soon. The duratracs aren't a M/T are they?

I have the Duratracs on my 3/4-ton sub, sized 285/75-17, about 33" equivalent, with only about 4-5k miles. They look awesome! But, I have come to the conclusion I WILL go back to BFG's again. These Duratracs pick up and wedge every sized rock in the tread up to about marble size, and are unable to clean themselves out, even at 60 mph, causing the tires to become out of balance and bounce. Plus, they are a softer compound, and my harsh summers eat them quick. Never again with the Duratracs.

I've heard good on both but I went with ko2 and I am not disappointed. A few people I know have duratracs and they ride rough and wear pretty quickly and unevenly.. The bfgs are pretty soft too, I have about 5k on mine and can't even tell there's any wear yet

That's good to know about the duratracs..haven't heard about them not shedding rocks and makes sense why they wear unevenly. Dont wanna be replacing these more often than a guy needs to. I'd be very happy to get 50,000+ out of the BFG's. Looks like you guys have made up my mind

Don't quote me on it but that's just what I've heard from different people who run them.. Gotta remember alignment and rotation makes a big factor idk if they kept up on all of that

I am running BFG AT KO LT's, they replaced Good-For-A-Year tires that were on it.

Just rotate regularly as per the owners manual, they will ladt you a while.

I'm sure it's been discussed on the forum but don't want to sift through 2 years worth of conversation to find it. Anyways I have a 3 in level kit in front and a inch rear block. I have the stock 20's on my Z71 LTZ..will I have any issues with a 275/60 rubbing or anything? I know stock is 275/55 so there isn't much difference other than being a bit taller..but just thought I'd throw it out there for your opinions before ordering..

yes I have Duratracs 265 /65 /18 , rotate at every oil change , NO problems - 32000 miles

I have had 2 sets of Duratracs and many sets of BFGs even in new KO2s. I like both. The Duratracs I ran on my Duramax 2500 wore exceptionally even. They did seem to wear faster initially but I still got similar mileage in the end to the BFGs I have had in past. I like both, either decision you will not go wrong. GM is even installing Durateacs as factory tires on Midnight editions. Agreed on the SRA being crap, but Duratrac is nothing like that.

I was talking to a guy at the local car wash the other day, he has the exact same truck as me except he has 85000 miles on his truck, his Duratracs have about 55,000 miles on them but you would have never guessed it, from the side they looked great and still had a lot of tread left. He ranted about how much he liked them - sold me on them.

I went to the local Chevy dealer and for 265/65/18 with alignment, I got a price of $952.22. I will shop around to see if I can get a better deal but I think I'll be getting a set of these before winter. These SRA's that came stock are sliding all over the place after only 30,000 miles.

Well I called around to 7 different tire places and no one had them in stock - and to my surprise, no one could beat the Chevy dealer's price - so I ordered them, I should have them on the truck within a week. :)
