2016 Silverado transmission shifting hard

Hi guys I'm just wondering if anybody here could tell me if they are experiencing the same or similar issues with your 2016 Silverado 1500 5.3 once the transmission gets up to temp and when downshifting from either third gear to sencond or second to first it makes a loud noise like a clunk I called the dealer and they said is normal I am a landscaper so I get to drive all kinds of different trucks all the time and it doesn't seem normal to me and also the USB ports are completely dead

Already had my usb ports replaced at 1000 miles. My tranny makes abrupt hard shifts with a clunk occasionally when coasting to a stop. I also get a clunk when I accelerate then let off the gas quickly.

It's the GM way. Try turning off hill decent control, by holding the tow/haul button on the shifter stalk. You'll see a message pop up on the driver info screen.

Is yours an 8 speed trans? Mine is and it sounds like we have the same issues. A visit to my dealer with the issue resulted in a supposed software update that did absolutely nothing to help....Neither does disabling the grade braking with holding the tow/haul button. I've been hoping that now getting past 5000 miles it would start to settle down, but it is not. The first time it ever clunked (about 100 mi on it) upshifting from like 3rd to 4th, It was so violent that I thought the driveshaft had fallen off. This and the magical 70+mph vibration have left me feeling letdown by GM bigtime.

Yeah my truck started doing that noise right away after I bought it brand new like 3 months ago and now it has 3500 miles and still does the noise I'm bringing it to the dealer on Monday I'll let you guys know what I find out

I thought that turned off the grade braking?

Yes you know what i meant. I know there are two separate functions, hill decent and grade braking. But whatever the one on the shifter stalk is

Hi guys sorry it took me so long to get back at all of you my transmission is a six speed and I did bring it to the dealer just so they could tell me that its a normal noise

Did you really expect them to tell you that the noise is "ABNORMAL"? "NORMAL" means they do not have to do anything. "NORMAL" is always the safest way out when they do not have a $#@^% idea what is wrong.

I've had several GM trucks, some new, some used. All transmissions were smooth as butter until I got my 2016 8 speed. Clicks, Clacks, and lurches pretty much normal with mine.

I have a 2016 with a 6.2, the transmission had been making banging noises as others have written about. At about 15,000 miles I was driving at about 60 MPH on cruise control and no load. The truck had a loud internal noise that shuttered the truck. Other transmission shutters occurred on a regular basis. Brought it to the dealer and they said the GM bulletin stated it was normal. After that consist banging started to occur every time I went from neutral to reverse along with significant jolts at various points of shifting. I attached a GoPro to the undercarriage to record the violent actions of the drive train and had my wife record rpm's on the dash during shifts. I called the service manager and said this needs to be fixed. Got the truck in and needless to say a week later I had the truck back with a new transmission. I can only describe the shifting at this time as "magical" it is perfect, just a dream to drive. Unfortunately I drove it another 750 miles and the check engine light started flashing along with the stability light. Bad injector on #6 cylinder, but that's another story. I sould have it back in the next day or so. I have owned a 2012, 2008 and 2005 Sierra Denali and even with these issues it's still the best most comfortable I've ever driven.
