LED Headlight upgrade

I have a 2014 Silverado with stock headlights. Has anyone upgraded to a LED bulb. Do you need the warning cancellers/capacitor kit with these. If anyone has installed these, what brand and how do you like them? Thanks

No one has ever done that upgrade, care to be the first?

There are multiple threads about that you can look at that will cover everything and anything. First and foremost though you will need to upgrade your headlight housings to either the LTZ headlights or an aftermarket headlight housing. On top of blinding everyone with how much brighter they are in a reflector housing, LED's don't have even light dispersion with a few diodes giving off the light so it is splotchy in a reflector housing.

Like Tyler mentioned there are many topics on this. You definitely should swap you stock LT reflector headlights to the LTZ projector headlights or an aftermarket projector if you plan on running LED or HID bulbs. In your reflector housing they will just wash out and blind everyone in front of you with out a real difference behind the wheel with the exception of the cool color. Lots of people are running the OPT 7 leds. I ran those opt 7 for awhile then installed the morimoto elite HID system and it blows the opt 7 leds out of the water. From what I have read LED's will not put out the same amount of lumens as the HID bulbs.

Great information, thats why I had to ask. Thank you so much, very helpful. Guess ill be looking at some LTZ headlights or aftermarkets for a my next upgrade. Thanks again!

I'll recommend 6k HID on the projector(ltz headlights) the output is amazing and the cut off line is not bad at all, definitely have to use cancellers I used diodedynamics.com I have had my HIDs for a year with not even light blinking or failing.

Even LEDS in an HID or halogen projector will not have great results. The projectors need to be matched up with the correct light bulbs.

Was looking at these headlights with an HID kit or the LED. Sounds like the Morimoto kit is the way to go.

Those look nice! When you order the HID kit make sure you order the correct bulb size for those after market headlights! Have you looked at the winjet or anzo headlights?

Just make sure they take the same bulbs. The OEM projectors use an H11 bulb but many of the aftermarket ones actually use an H1 bulb (they are slightly different sizes and light output).

I like the winjet a little better simply because they look like a little better quality over the ANZO. i have heard the anzo can be a real pain to adjust the up and down to position the lights and the quality isn't as nice as you would expect with a $400 + investment. I could be wrong and thats why i value everyones opinion. Thanks for the info on the correct bulb sizes as I did not take that into consideration. Thanks guys!

Do a search for Xenon depot. The LED bulbs you were looking at above won't fit unless you cut holes in your dust caps. The Xenondepot.com LED H11's will fit perfectly without modification.
