2017 App Shop

Just picked up my 2017 yesterday and noticed the "Shop" app for downloading apps. I logged in and there are only 3 available.Weather Channel, Glympse and another one I think was some type of Onstar App. Anyone know if GM Plans to build an App Store for these?

 

The other thing I noticed is while I was messing around with it a message popped up "Downloading System Updates" then the little refresh button started spinning. Is this a software update they would normally do at the dealer? I had my system connected to my home Wifi at the time.

The App shop was supposed to be rolled out not long after the 14s hit the street. They are just now getting around to making it live in the trucks but, with only 3 apps. Be Thankful LOL!

And one of three apps is a weather app that my truck already had through XM. I will definitely be up to speed with the current weather conditions..lol

to use the xm weather app you need to pay for it, I think the downloadable app is free and you can use your phones data for it.

 

I really hope they make Pandora downloadable, I'm so mad they discontinued it for '17

I agree but it will still have Pandora through Apple Car Play..I noticed it's an offered App on the Cadillac Cue system so maybe it will pop up soon.

Oh good. I don't have apple and Android auto is terrible. And to Bluetooth stream I have to actually have turn on the Pandora app from my phone first. My other two cars with built in Pandora it starts playing as soon as I turn it on from the head unit.

I use Apple Car pretty much all the time so it rendered the factory Pandora App virtually useless since it couldn't be accessed while connected to ACP...probably while they quit loading it. On my 16 the only way the Pandora app would work is with the phone not connected to Apple Car play and with the USB not connected, only Bluetooth.

No wait..It was with the USB connected but with Bluetooth turned off.

It is beautiful! How much was it ( if you don't mind sharing ) I assume the 22" and 6.2 added a decent amount to the total.

You have to allow it access to your phone. Mine did same thing. Now I just hit the Pandora app and it starts working. Never have to touch my phone now.
