Don't. Aftermarket is a pain, and usually more expensive. Basically, all GM trucks now use their on-board computer to start the truck. Doesn't matter much if it's a key twist, or a button push to start the computer routine to kick over the engine. The remote part for the truck is basically just the extra electrical connections and the wireless receiver. Very simple, very easy, very clean. that's the way to go. I noticed today while at a GM dealer, that it seems most new 2017 GM cars and SUVs have push button start and keyless entry. GM has really started going that route almost completely. I'm wondering when the keyless will be put in most of their trucks?

The factory one is worth it. I rip out so many aftermarket remotes due to various problems.

The 2, 10 minute intervals are all that is available.

 

Dealer cannot set it longer. It's been this way for more than just this generation.

Now if they would only increase the range (distance away from vehicle to remote start) w/o needing OnStar.
