Unfortunately I do not have pins #11 or #12.

 

Are you saying you were able to add these pins to the body side of your harness? The regular cabs do indeed have side airbags in the seats. When you say you reused all your OEM SRS equipment, did this require disassembly of the entire seat, or just swapping it over underneath the seat. At this point if I could just add power to the seats so they would work and not have the airbag light on the dash I would be happy.

Yes, the pic I attached is the body side harness of my truck. I guess because my DS seat had power, the PS was wired for it? That really sucks. You're going to have to get + from somewhere and add a ground.

 

I added the + and - from the new seat motor wiring harness to my seat side harness (I had to drill out the yellow seat connector holes in those slots and push the wires in).

In terms of the SRS stuff. Look at your old seats and new seats. I'm going to bet your old seats are like mine where there is a small seat position sensor located on the seat rail towards the front. On the power heated seats it's part of the black box that powers/controls the heaters. You either need to swap all of your SRS wiring and sensors over to the new seats (putting the sensors on the brackets in the SAME spot as they were on your old seats) or get a new BCM and Wiring because I don't believe the SRS wiring matches up (again because the SRS stuff is integrated into the heated seat box). Without doing either of those things I don't think you'll ever get them to work. From what I've read, when the SRS light is on, NONE of the airbags will deploy. Also, to be clear, when I used my old seat harness, I was also retaining my yellow seat plug so the wire connections matched up to my body side plug, I just drilled and added the + and - as I noted above.

 

You can get to the seat bottom stuff pretty easy, but unfortunately you will have to remove the upper seat cushion to get to the wires in the seat back. It's not terrible, everything un-snaps/unclips.

Can anyone tell me if buying a set of leather heated seats from a LTZ 1LZ with A45 (memory seat function) will interfere with having just power seats? My truck in a 1LT with cloth, power driver, manual passenger non heat. I know I'll have to do some harness swapping on the PS which is fine, I'm just at a stand still on the driver seat not knowing if A45 is going to screw things up.

Can anyone tell me if buying a set of leather heated seats from a LTZ 1LZ with A45 (memory seat function) will interfere with having just power seats? My truck in a 1LT with cloth, power driver, manual passenger non heat. I know I'll have to do some harness swapping on the PS which is fine, I'm just at a stand still on the driver seat not knowing if A45 is going to screw things up.

 

I think I am probably going to sell my set of front Denali seats if your interested. Does not look like I am going to be able to swap these for my manual seats unfortunately.

 

They are 14' black denali seats with all options.

were you able to get the power working?  I currently have a LT Silverado power drivers seat manual passenger seat.  I just bought denali seats and the passenger side was plug and play no problems, but the drivers side I wasn't so lucky.  The seat does work because I plugged it into a friends denali and everything worked as should and I don't know where to go from here.

No, they have just been sitting. So your telling me that it was a plug and play replacement for your manual passenger seat, but did not work on your driver side power seat? I figured it would be opposite, as both my seats are manual and the Denali seats do not work on either side.

Ok guys...For those wanting some info on this why the behavior that is being reported is happening.  I had the opportunity to help a local member with a similar swap.

 

His truck:  2015 LT, Cloth Heated Seats

What he wanted to install:   2016+ LTZ Seats, Heated/Cooled (Ventilated) Seats.

 

Driver Side - Power Seats from higher trim (LTZ/HC, SLT/Denali) installed on a lower trim truck.  The reason the power adjust doesn't work is because the power control commands are interfaced through the Seat Memory Module (A45).  Since  the lower trim trucks do no have this module, the power adjust circuits are broken.  In order to gain power adjust back, you'll have to reroute all the wiring away from the module and direct to the control panel, just as it would on the lower trim, essentially, removing the Seat Memory Module from the equation.  Also know that the adjust motors themselves are different.  The motors on the higher trim say "Mem" versus "Non-Mem".  The "Mem" motors will have extra circuits to support the memory function.  4-pin versus 2-pin.  

 

Passenger Side - Power Adjust on the passenger will be Plug and Play (for the adjust), because there is no "memory" function for the passenger seat.  On his truck, there was SRS Airbag issue and that reason was there is there is a Seat Position Module that is NOT present on the LTZ passenger seat.  So that had to be added.  There is a circuit that we tied into, installed the module, and the air bag light went away.  

 

Seat Cooling - This did not work after plugging in because there are additional circuits that needed to be added and routed from each seat's vent motor to the K29 Seat Heated Control Module.  Once these were added, cooled work.  The heated button on the radio bezel trim was swapped out for a heated/cooled.  The cooled works like factory.

 

Seat Heating - This did not work after plugging and still doesn't.  One the Higher Trim Seats, there is a 4-wire connector that includes power, plus 3 other "reference" signals.  On the lower trim, it's a 2-pin, power/ground only.  So we haven't had the time to revisit the heat.  

 

So after spending a total 10 days (which seemed like 80 hours total - LOL).  We have the seats in, power adjust works, SRS Airbag system is working, and Cool is working.  Heat is not working.  

 

There were MANY hours spent on comparing wiring diagrams and circuits between the two.  We also had to harvest various terminals, wires, and connectors from the old seats' harnesses to use on the new seats' harnesses.

I was going to do this two times in the past but failed upon going this route.

 

I’m in the process of changing the cloth on my seats from factory grey to factory black. Not a cheap mod to say the least lol

 

I have back done and all head rests, just trying to figure out if I’m going to do heated in the front before swapping the fabric.

 

 

Congrats on getting the swap to function properly thus far, hoping the heat will function correctly.

We will be revisiting @ Viktorrocks15 truck next week. We will be doing the full seat memory retrofit on his and during this time, will work on getting full functionality of heat.

When we worked on it the first time, we had to modify the seat harness to make what we could work, work. This involved lots of repining.

So since we are doing memory now, we will restore the seats harness and work on the memory retrofit... in hopes, we will get his working like factory.

One thing to note... he has factory heat.

So adding cooled is a bonus biproduct.

I have lots more work to be done to it after this but I'll be nick naming this "Western Edition".

 

 

The only thing I can't make my mind up about is if I should put the Additive desert chase rack on or not as I can get bran new for $1000CAD right now.. can't make up my mind by the slightest for this.

I am looking to put a set of 2016 GMC heated/cooled seats in a 55 Chevy.

had anyone figured out a stand alone installation yet?

if not, if I get the factory switches and a bcm is it as simple as putting power and ground to bcm and wiring necessary wires? Any help would be greatly appreciated as interior work and I am about done.

Mounting brackets are different in the front.  The back seat will bolt in.

    • can you tell if the reader is actually trying to get codes, and the pcm is reporting none, or is your reader just silently failing because it's not communicating with the pcm?
    • Any joy with this truck seems to be short-lived.   The CEL for P0172 ("bank 1" too rich) is now "intermittent".   I'm not sure where to check, or re-check, and my energy to keep chasing problems with junk is wearing thin. The P0172 seems to set as I'm coming to a stop, completely off the throttle, when fully warm. At least, that's what it's done the 3? times it's set.   Everything appears normal on the scanner EXCEPT long term fuel trim. There's only one bank on this vehicle because it's an OBD 1.5 with only one upstream O2 sensor. At idle, it's around -16.4% and will dip to -18% occasionally at idle or off-throttle. LTFT approaches 0 when throttle is held at 2500rpm. Short term appears normal, much closer to zero all the time. The LTFT tells me the engine is running rich at idle but compensating at higher load. But, why?   The EVAP purge valve doesn't appear to be leaking/sucking fuel vapor continuously. Is it sticking just as I come to a stop and the engine is choking on fuel vapor and sets the P0172? But that doesn't explain the persistently negative LTFT. Disconnecting the purge valve doesn't seem to make any difference.   I suppose that leaves another dang issue with the fuel injector. A leaking fuel pressure regulator, a new leak in the spider, or a leaking fuel injector/poppet valve I didn't see, or a small crack in one of the spider legs.   The vacuum line leading to the fuel pressure regulator doesn't have raw fuel in it. It doesn't even smell like fuel when it's pulled off, not until you suck air through it, then you can tell it leads to a fuel component. I'd consider that normal? Nothing is signaling this is a FPR issue from the outside, at least.   The oil smells like fuel but it's not building volume. I've noticed most oil in most engines smells like fuel to some degree so it's hard to say if the smell is an issue or not. Or if the engine just still smells like fuel because the crankcase was full of it a few hundred miles ago. But it's been changed twice since that original issue of the leaking fuel line dumping fuel into the intake.   Patience is running very thin. Every win seems to be accompanied by two steps backwards, or another issue that leads to removing at least the top half of the intake manifold. Enough! LOL
    • First off you mentioned "Toyo Says" and then gave the pressures 45/50, was this some person at the tire shop that pulled those numbers out of his head ?   Now of course I can't know your exact axle weights front and rear, however I have much the same pickup as yourself other than not knowing your starting weight as per the pounds the truck rolled out of the factory at due to the options yours did or didn't come with or what you have added beyond the extra tire weight. The correct way to know 100% where a person is at is by weighing each axle with the typical weight the vehicle is driven with and that means taking into account passengers and making sure you figure in a full tank of fuel and a little grace for whatever you may put in the bed "groceries" !    I am looking at and not that it really matters as all the tire companies use the same charts anyway, but I am looking at the comprehensive Toyo tire chart in the section that your tire falls under and I know it sounds confusing but your tire is not an LT metric tire like your factory tire but instead because its a standard inch measured tire its under a different category called an LT floatation series tire. That makes a difference as LT metric tires they don't want to see run below 35 psi at highway speed where as with the LT floatation series it can be run down to 25 psi on the highway as long as the weight on the said size of tire is agreeable with or less than that minimum 25 psi. It blows many people away that how is this physically possible, an empty truck for one thing and larger tires with the same size wheel diameter have a lot more air volume so they can carry the same weight as the smaller tire with less air pressure.    So my truck, I have the stock 275/65R20 wheels and tires and I have a bit of weight in the box with a bak flip cover and a rubber bed mat and some tools and spare gas. The front of my gas truck weighs a bit more than some trucks of the similar spec due to double batteries and alternators. However with full fuel and just me in the truck I am weighted such that I can run 40 front and 35 rear and so that is what I have done since day one.    If I base your truck at or slightly below the weight of my truck, in theory with your tires going by the tire chart you might be right around a minimum of 30 pounds front and 25 pounds rear. Of course that would hit pretty much minimum cold inflation pressure one could run with that tire size and a near empty truck. If you have access to an accurate weigh scale to do individual front and rear axle weights I would suggest you do that and make sure your topped up with fuel and whatever else in the truck before you weigh it and then you will have a great starting point to work off of and figure out what your bare minimum pressures are you can safely run. If you do much in the way of hot weather high speed driving, bumping up a bit for a safety margin is never a bad idea but just depends on what type of driving you do. I will include the Toyo chart and the floatation series sizes start on page 31. Without a doubt at these pressures I am speculating at minimum wise for your truck, it would most certainly ride very different then it did when you were using 55 lb front and rear.     https://www.toyotires.com/media/pxcjubjs/application_of_load_inflation_tables_20200723.pdf
    • Take an automotive stethoscope to the vacuum pump. Iirc those tick as well. 
    • This landing is worse than most. Patchy blacktop with washouts, soft gravel/sand at bottom that washes out with every heavy rain. I tell everyone to put it in 4WD. A lot of them think they can pull out their trailer in 2WD. They end up digging a hole and then putting it in 4WD.  The lake is a pristine lake and has a lot of money on it. There are several wake boats and lot of large tritoons.
