I just received word from the dealership that my 2017 Silverado LTZ has been shipped from Ft. Wayne.

I was hoping someone would be able to give me an idea on how long it takes from the Ft. Wayne factory to

a west coast (California) dealer. I'm getting pretty excited and can't wait! The dealer told me the build would take 10-12 weeks.

It was built and shipped in four!

Help us help you. How fast is the truck moving and what is the distance that needs to be covered?

I certainly would think truck would be going faster than your Bronco did.

take the good responses with the bad. My estimation will be a few weeks. Most likely will be traveling by rail.

This site says 10-12 weeks depending on the model ordered - plus 1-3 weeks transportation to western USA:

My 6.2L crew cab was ordered 1/24 and built 21 days later......... Waiting on transport myself, figure I will wait until the last day of this month and ask on that thread......... Won't be long now hopefully! But my west coast dealer did say when I ordered it - the delay lately has been in shipping........

And if you want to be real anal - have your dealer activate your new rig's On-Star - and then use the app to track every inch of it's journey.........

Vehicles destined for west of the Mississippi travel by rail to a rail head and from there to dealer by truck. Shipped does necessarily mean its lefts Ft Wayne yet. Once the vehicle is built and ok'd to ship its "in transit" even if its still stilling waiting for the train to leave Ft Wayne. I would say 2-3 to reach the dealer. It going to sit at the rail head for some time waiting for them to build a truck load to dispatch to dealers.

Everything from the crew cab plant in Mexico leaves by rail, the plant is down near Mexico City, about 600 miles SW of Laredo, TX. Too costly to truck them 1,000 of miles, rails are more cost efficient and the can move 100's with one train.

2,800 miles from Mexico City to my dealer in Washington state............

I recall it was about 3 weeks + 3 days from the when my Sierra Denali shipped till it arrived at my dealer in Marquette Michigan. It went to a rail distribution center in Illinois somewhere and from there 400 + miles North to the dealer, about 2,100 miles as the crow flies

mine took 5 weeks from the day I ordered it to the day it showed up.
