What about reapplying if deciding it doesn't look like intended. This has always been my fear and why I haven't done it yet.

I've never re-applied a badge I took off. I would assume you can re-purchase the badging through GM and it would probably come with a stencil. If not, you could probably make one fairly easily, but most adhesive lettering I've seen put up in buildings and such come with a stencil. Once that's lined up, you just pull off the backing and plunk it in the spot on the stencil.

I de-badged my truck and they made those things to never come off! I used fishing line to get the pieces off and rubbed the residue off with my finger. This technique worked on my tailgate but I had to change tactics when I got to the Texas Edition emblems on the door.

I ended up taking it to a guy and he wrapped masking tape around his thumb to get the the beginning of the adhesive off. I tried it and it actually worked really well! He then used a rubbing wheel with some compound and removed the remaining residue.

That's funny that you had the same issues I did - Tail gate was easy but the doors were a pain in the ass!

Thinking about debadging but not sure what it will look like ? I was too. I don't do photoshop but was able to use the simple photo editing program that comes standard on most PCs to edit the badges out of the pictures. Edited the Bowtie out first and then the Silverado. Then I put pictures in sequence. First with all badges. Second with Bowtie removed. Third with Silverado and Bowtie removed. Then with just the Silverado removed. After that I was able to click back and forth and compare. Since all were copies of the same picture size and lighting was unchanged.

After 15 minutes of clicking back and forth I went outside with a piece of fishing line and removed everything, including the Silverado door emblems ! 20 minutes with the eraser wheel and I was ready for wax !

I like the clean look and it makes washing and waxing easier !

I had the same issue. Tail gate was a breeze but the doors where a PITA. I had more trouble with the dealer sticker than anything else. Took me for ever to get it to lift off. The 4x4 stickers were by far the easiest to remove.

Just curious why you removed the 4x4 stickers? Did you replace with something else? I wouldn't want people to think I had a 2x4 lol jk.

Lol I just like the clean look. I wouldn't mind a 4x4 sticker that was black/gray but short of somebody giving them to me I'm not putting anything back on. I removed all the badging. I like the clean smooth look. I really don't care if somebody thinks it's a 2x4 nor would I imagine that many people would assume it is due to lack of badging.

To reapply the badges, 3m makes a clear emblem adhesive that you stick the emblem on them remove with adhesive now attached and mount to your car clean up any little excess and boom you're done

When you took off the 4x4 sticker, did you use a heat gun? Or did you just pick it off and it came off like a sticker?

I just let it sit in the sun and then picked at a corner and it peeled right off.

I used a heat gun for 10-15 seconds then peeled a corner and it came right off. Wiped some goo gone on let it sit for 45 seconds wiped it off and cleaned and waxed the area
