Lift with a 5th wheel

I am looking at doing a lift to my 17 Silverado 3500, however I am concerned as I also pull a 5th wheel occasionally and don't want to run into issues.

I am looking at a 3-4" lift/level and adding air bags to level out the rear after adding the weight of the 5th.

To note I do have the snow plow prep, factory 5th wheel prep and would like to retain my factory wheel and go to a 34-35" tall tire as well.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I think a lot would fall on whether you could clear the bed rails with the 5vr after lifting...assuming you want to keep the 5vr level.

As said you might hit the rear bed rails next to the tail gate with the trailer, hard to say without seeing a pic of it hooked up before the lift. Hell put a 4" lift on the 5th wheel problem solved. :)

Just from reading on my camper forum, most require at least 6" of clearance between bed rails and camper. Most newer trucks are higher in the back and camping manufactures are catching up to this spec. if its an older camper you may have an issue. You do want camper to tow level so only option would be to lift camper too. This makes for a less stable towing but can help if you go off grid on crappy dirt roads. Plus on larger 5th wheels that could mean raising 3 axles.

There are adjustable pin hitches that can raise the camper but then you would not be level. Pin high towing unloads the rear end and makes for a non stable towing experience. Too little clearance can cause camper to hit truck when traversing unlevel surfaces like driveway aprons or RR tracks. Your choice.

Kelderman 4wheel air suspension. Have one set point for non towing and one for towing.
