Regular Cab Comfortability????

Recommended Posts

I just got my first truck, a regular cab long bed. No regrets!

Coming from a wrangler I have just as much interior space and way more storage capability with an 8ft bed. The gf dog and I fit fine on the bench and four hour drives up to the cabin are quiet and comfortable compared to the wrangler.

The dog really loves it because when it's just us two he gets to sprawl out and still be next to me.

The final benefit is you ain't driving aroud in some dime a dozen grocery getter cc or ext cab

Congratulations on your new truck! I find the regular cab with an 8 ft box a head turner! I often wonder how many people driving "some dime a dozen grocery getter cc or ext cab" also started out with a regular cab with an 8 ft box!

Buckshot congratulations on truck. What breed of dog you own? Mine is a 105 pound Cane Corso that measures over 4 feet at full stretch. He really leans in if you come into his space. Gets old quick and he commandeered a leather sofa by bullying me. I ain't no Dog Whisperer LOL.

My dog I only a 50lb lab mutt. So the jump seat with a lap to lay his head on is all he needs.

I really wouldn't call my truck a head turner, at least with the ladies. My wrangler turned every girls head in traffic. This truck, not so much.

I don't know what else you guys a driving but my '17 Regular cab Silverado Z71 rides like a Cadillac compared to my 5 other cars.

In the US the roads are so much better than up here in Canada. I love going to Arizona were there are no frost cracks in the road!

If you look around you may just find a very nice reg cab. And if you add some leather seats, and some other stuff you can make them look as classy as and full size truck. They just look a little different! You will find (at least here in Canada) that some dealers will go after this market and have several loaded short box trucks on the lot.

And the 5.3 is a beast in these little trucks, But when I Go to Barrett Jackson and go the GM Performance booth I would love to swap out a LS3 for my 5.3. Then we would kick butts. If my wife would only let me dip into the retirement pot! ahaha

I had a 79 Chevy short box with a 454 in it. I use to kick Bandit Trans Am asses with it and man were they shocked when I did!

I was going to say come see me in Maine if you are looking for bad roads in the US haha. But then I saw you were talking about AZ.

Bought a rcsb GMC new in 15 . Had extended and 4 door raising family and they are perfect for families . Got to say tho with just me and wife now we both really like the rcsb. They are so easy to park and get around parking lots and really no blind spots driving .

I was wanting a regular cab when I was shopping in 2014 because I don't have kids and I like how easy a RCSB is to get around in. In the end though the better half thought we would miss the ext.cab when it came to going to the grocery store, trips, etc. and she was probably right. The double cab is good all around size but the downside is that they have less room then they did in the earlier models but the cab has more room than the older models did. I am 6'2" and this is the first truck that I didn't have to have the seat all the way back to be comfortable.

I had a regular cab for 14 years. Great heat and cooling ability as everything was the same except a smaller cab. The only time I missed the extra room was camping as you have to store everything in the box and cover it if it rains. I have a club cab now but am thinking of going back to a regular cab short box.

Yes a tonneau cover is a must for dry storage for sure . Locking tailgates are a nice feature to have that yesteryears didn't. Using the bed for storage has one benefit tho it is amazing how clean inside of cab stays lol.
