Won't turnover, getting weird messages in the DIC

Curious to know if this has happened to anyone else...this morning, my 2015 Silvy wouldn't turnover - took a few key turns. Once it did, I ran the truck for a bit, stopped, and tried to restart and had the same issue. The battery looks fine and I'm thinking it's the starter. The only other weird thing is I'm getting some random messages in the DIC when the truck does ultimately start - things like "Service Stabillitrack" and "Service Trailer Brake." I also noticed that the MyLink animation that you typically see when you open the door isn't occurring. I already have an appointment scheduled with my service guy but I was curious if this has happened to anyone else or if it's something weird going on with my truck. Thanks in advance.

No crank, no start. And I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I drove 36,532 trouble free miles. So 500+ past warranty and I get this issue :banghead:

Okay, so when it does mess up, is it a no crank no start, or is it a crank no start?

This is more than likely caused by a ignition 1 voltage being lost to either the underhood fuse block or the left instrument panel fuse block. Both of which require extensive wire tracing and multimeter usage. There is a preliminary information through GM for this concern. The number is #PIT5391C. A common area for this wire concern or relay malfunction is underneath the drivers sill plate. The wire splice can break apart in there and not make a good connection. But this is more than likely dealership territory. I hope they have someone good enough there to diagnose this for you.

There is another concern I've seen and that's a harness chafing on the vacuum pump on the engine.

This is exactly the type of response I was hoping for - I would like to go in armed with a few suggestions so that some of the troubleshooting can be expedited. I'll see if anyone else chimes in - thank you!

Try a new battery first. I had this problem with my 2010. Sometimes it wouldn't start but after a few tries it would. Turned out to be a weak battery which you wouldn't think would be the problem since eventually it would turn over normally.

Based on what trouble codes they find. I'd be curious to see what codes are stored in the FPCM OR CCM. That's he fuel pressure control module or chassis control module. This module controls fuel delivery. This would also explain your stabilitrak messages.

GREAT info so far, but don't rule out a battery until you load test it. Also, check for corrosion, etc.

Don't do this. Last thing a tech wants to hear is a know it all customer that tells them how to do their job. Instead, give him a bottle of Crown up front and let the tech do his job. Remember, this is the guy that is going to recommend good will warranty or not.

Just throwing it out there, not sure how many miles your truck had new, but my warranty is 36,080 miles because it was sold new with 80 miles.

Just thought it might be possible your truck had 532+ miles

My guess would be the battery, my 14 used to get all kinds of weird DIC messages, changed battery, no further problems. Wife's 16 Tahoe would not start one day, new battery, no further problems with it either. If you are still on your original, better odds than not it is dying.

Just got an auto message from OnStar saying the battery was critically low, so that very well may be the case.

+1

Although I'm not so sure about the glass turkey, the better the explanation of the symptoms, the better the technician can do his job.

Symptoms only, no diagnosis.

I always think low voltage when having issues like this. Electronics act funny when the voltage isn't within tolerances.
