Plastidip Grill?

Recommended Posts

Just got a leveling kit and new wheels, but I feel that the grill does not match the new look of the truck. What do you think? Should I black out some of the grill?75c472cadbd359acee73e3c4a4afb7d9.jpg

Tough call man, IMO black wheels work well with color matched bumpers. With chrome bumpers, looks too busy...again IMO.

Before you paint your grill try popping the grill inserts out, without them there's only a tiny bit of chrome.

Has anyone plastidipped the inserts?

I have a different stock grille but I just finished Plasti-Dipping my inserts on my front grille inserts

And your bumpers. Chrome belongs on motorcycles and muscle cars.

Love this line. I have a nice big cruiser that's all decked out with chrome but for my truck, I want to cover it all with plasti dip.

Did you remove the inserts to plastidip? Looks great.

Please dont. I know I will get hell for this but plasti dip is meh.  I would never put that on anything i own.

I vote for plastidip on the mesh inserts. I did that on my 15 LTZ and it looked good. I did mine the hard way--removed the grille, then the inserts and shot them with 4-5 coats. 2+ years later and it still looked good.

Just make sure you use the glossifier. Plastidip can look really cheap if sprayed on poorly. The glossifier really helps it step up a notch in terms of quality

I did the chrome around the grill. Im

happy with it. Might re do it but it helped the look of the truck a lot. If I get my truck re painted ever I’ll have the bumpers done.

I have to save them on my computer, edit them by rotating away from upright and back to upright (sometimes 360º rotation), before uploading them.  But, yeah, it sucks.

I traded it in a month ago, so the only one I have is from the dealer. Here it is:
