"Free" GM / Chevrolet oil change service for first 2 times?

My 15 came with 4 oil changes and tire rotation. I go every 6 months weather I need it or not. That way I use all 4 in 2 years. My oil looks fine and 0 issues.

Salesman says the oil reminder needs to be down to 20% and Chevy does say something about "regular" maintenance. The dealers who overlook this must be fudging paperwork.

With my 2015 1500 I think that we changed it around 2,500 miles and every 5 000 or 6000 after that. It has one more free oil change. I just sold it so I need to tell the new owner that he has one more free oil change.

With my 2016 2500 we did the first oil change around 1,000 miles. It is just about due for the second one.

Sounds like a bunch of crap from the dealership. I used my free oil changes whenever I wanted to. Definitely above the 25% limit they said to you. What do they care if you use them all up right away or spread them out? Shouldn't matter to them... They should get their money from GM in the end either way!

It may well "matter to them" --- GM can, and probably does, set the conditions under which they will cover the cost. It would make sense for them to "pay" for the service only when the service is due. I'm guessing you would not be given "free" oil changes four days in a row (extreme scenario).

True, This particular dealer told me that they need to meet the "qualifications" (less then 25% Oil life or over 6,000 miles) to perform the "free" oil change service,. through GM/ Chevy. I assume the dealer will not be able to get reimburse for the service through GM if they perform it outside those parameters.

Once again sucks for us the truck owners as we now have to wait for these services, or do them our self's ( Pay out of pocket if not qualified)?

I would LOVE to hear from GM them self's about this genius idea...

The other side of the coin, of course, is that it certainly wouldn't hurt GM to be more lenient with their rules. This is, after all, not really a "free" deal. The cost to GM is figured into the cost of the vehicle, same as average warranty experience, etc.

The bullshit just keeps coming from a few of the dealers. Just last week my truck was 5 1/2 months old, 5100 miles on it, and the oil % was 30%. THEY contacted ME and said I was due for the first free oil change and I did take them up on it. It was "close enough." and I had the free time to do it.

I am getting 4 changes as well with my new 2017!

Well you should, dont they cost like 75k up there?

Make them change it if you aren't comfortable. I purchased the lifetime oil changes for 995.00 (mobile 1 synthetic), but I was told the first 2 are free (not that I cared) and I could bring the vehicle in whenever I felt it needed changed. Up to 4 times a year.

Why do so many people only use the Mobil 1 full synthetic when the dexos 1 oil is also full synthetic?

    • It was never mandated.  Ever.    Automakers were incentivized to install it by getting CAFE credits to help with their vehicle fleet fuel economy scores.  They were being handed money/CAFE credits to install it.  Which is NOT a mandate.       The current admin removed the incentives that were behind them installing it.
    • Are you playing Slide Down endlessly but your score is still low? Are you constantly crashing into obstacles as the game speed increases? Don't worry, this article will share 5 invaluable tips to help you master the race and impress your friends. Golden Rules 1. Look one step further. The mistake of 90% of new players is only staring at their character. The secret of experts is to look towards the top of the screen (where the slide is about to appear). This gives your brain an extra 0.5 - 1 second to process the situation and determine the direction of movement before the obstacle approaches. 2. Use gentle movements; don't swipe too hard. Slide Down is very sensitive. Moving your finger too forcefully or with excessive amplitude will cause your character to be thrown off course or crash into a wall. Practise moving your finger with small, decisive, and precise movements. 3. Don't be greedy for gold in dangerous locations. Gold coins are tempting for buying skins, but life is more important. If you see a gold coin right on the edge of a cliff or next to a spike trap, ignore it. Our goal is a High Score, and your score only increases if you survive. 4. Make the most of Power-ups. During the slide, you'll encounter items like Magnets (attract gold) or Shields (temporary invincibility). Never miss them! Especially the Shield, it's your "get out of jail free card" to help you get through those deadly fast sections. 5. Stay calm when speed peaks. When your score exceeds 500 or 1000, the game speed will be very fast. At this point, don't try to think logically; let your natural reflexes work. Take deep breaths and don't panic. Apply these 5 tips to your next game, and your leaderboard will surely improve dramatically. Good luck climbing the Slide Down leaderboard!
    • If you use compressed air regularly, one problem you cannot ignore is moisture. Water in the air line can cause rust, unstable air pressure, poor tool performance, and even damage to sensitive equipment. That is why I highly recommend using a desiccant air dryer. A desiccant air dryer is designed to remove moisture from compressed air by using drying materials such as activated alumina or molecular sieve. Compared with basic water separators, it can achieve much lower dew points, making it especially useful for applications that require dry and stable air. For workshops, painting systems, pneumatic tools, CNC machines, laser cutting equipment, and industrial production lines, a desiccant air dryer can make a big difference. It helps protect equipment, improve air quality, reduce maintenance costs, and extend the service life of the whole compressed air system. Another advantage is reliability. Many desiccant air dryers are built for continuous operation and can maintain stable drying performance even in demanding environments. For users who care about long-term efficiency and equipment protection, this is a smart investment. When choosing a desiccant air dryer, I suggest paying attention to air flow capacity, working pressure, dew point performance, regeneration method, and maintenance requirements. A good model should match your compressor system and actual air consumption. Overall, if moisture is causing problems in your compressed air system, a desiccant air dryer is definitely worth considering. It is practical, efficient, and highly useful for anyone who needs clean, dry, and reliable compressed air.
    • My brand new 2007 Silverado's wax frame was rust from end to end partway through it's SECOND winter here in MA. That stuff is completely useless.
    • I went another direction after losing a trailer tire, thanks to not being able to access air at ANY of the 5 gas stations and garages I stopped at prior, with a Toyota Tacoma onboard, 50 miles from the Canadian border. They were either out of order, access was blocked, or the hose a few feet too short and I couldn't get any closer without risking damage to someone's property.   https://postimg.cc/gallery/X5QJ55w
