2017 AllTerrain CC 6.2 took delivery of my factory order on Monday part of my deal was this kit ( not installed, box in bed when I got truck ) have 60 miles on it ....

Installed a 1.5 level kit and this exhaust tonite quality item for sure fit perfect took 2 of us maybe 30 minutes to install on a lift single 4" tip side exit

AFAIK this kit made by Corsa no flapper like the Borla just one huge 28" oval muffler no resonator NO V4 helicopter sound on drive home from shop V4 was hardly different from V8 most would never know

For me is exactly what I wanted .........my 2010 5.3 had headers no cats and Magnaflow cat back sounded great but after a while just too loud at cruise especially when towing V4 was not a problem

This is not a loud exhaust alot would not like it it is quieter than the Borla touring ...nice rumble at idle but you barely hear it in cab at idle at WOT again not load but a deep roar my truck still has stock air box on it so I would expect an aftermarket intake would be louder than the exhaust

I assume this is the Exhaust that comes on the ALL Terrain X but in the smaller diameter for the 5.3

the 6.2 kit comes with an ANC recalibration code so you take to dealer they provide code to GM and they get a recalibrate update for the ANC to work with this exhaust ......

Overalll very pleased my days of load exhaust are over but the factory 6.2 exhaust is pitiful this is perfect for me I expect it will get a bit loader as I put some miles on it

Great write-up and confirms that ANC is indeed modified/changed by the dealer.

Tks yes I was confused on that could not find any info on how that worked now I know ........ IMO this what a 6.2 factory exhaust should sound like I can see it would be awesome with headers and still not super loud I would call this a "seniors or gentlemans " hot rod exhaust :)

So does this exhaust have or dosen't have anything for when it's in v4 mode to stop the helicopter noise, and is this kit any different then the kit offered from Corsa

I am wondering how loud this exhaust is. I recently had a magnaflo 12909 muffler installed on my 2017 Sierra and I think its to loud. I must be getting old but I want something louder than stock but not so loud that I can hear it in the cab. I thought the factory exhaust on my 2011 6.2 was perfect.

I'm in same boat. Factory is too damn quiet. I only have 1800 miles on my truck so maybe it will get a bit louder with more miles?

A GMT 900 6.2 factory exhaust sounded just right!

Too bad we can't turn off the Noise canceling since that may cancel out some exhaust tone.

I agree that the stock exhaust is to quiet, I can't hear it start in my driveway when I remote start it. I went with the 12909 because everyone said it was a little louder than stock but to my old man ears its alot louder. If this gm performance exhaust is close to the sound from my old truck I may go for it. By the way, the factory exhaust doesn't get any louder, I have 11k on my truck and still too quiet.

I turned off the noise cancelling for my stereo upgrade by cutting the crankshaft replicating sensor at the back passenger side door...Sub would get out of phase and make a horrible noise....I removed my flapper, resonator and OEM muffler. Replaced with 12909 about a year ago. Happy with sound in and out of the cab now...I missed my 2008 Denali 6 2 L sound as well.

Hi Bill, Did you buy your exhaust through a Canadian GM dealer? Or where? How much in Canadian Pesos? hahaha

    • That should answer the maximum depth difference between the stock and the PPE so its not hugely lower. As to the PML pan, they don't make any claims that it fits the L8T with the same transmission and in fact leave their information confusing, however on the surface it says "for Duramax" and so its hard to say. I know a while back and not sure which brand it was that specifically stated that the extra capacity pan that particular company made did NOT fit the gas version.
    • There are several versions of the 5100's. Some for stock height, some for leveled, some for lifted.    Side note. I finally had a chance to tow with my 30' gooseneck with about 10,000 lbs of material on it this past week. Hands down the 5100's made the trailer towing much more stable and comfortable. I even had 10 cmu blocks in the bed. What a difference over the stock shocks.
    • According to PML, the stock pan is 4.3" deep - (PML info): Dimensions: at deepest area, PML pan is 7 inches, stock pan is 4.3 inches    PPE is 5.4" so roughly 1.1" deeper than stock
    • I had not realized that PPE has come out with a version of a cast aluminum oil pan specific to being able to fit onto the 10L1000 with the L8T engine sometime this spring. I was doubting that anyone would come out with something beyond what Dorman had in more of a direct factory pan swap. I see from one comment that is on the PPE site that they found the pan to be tighter to install then the factory unit and having to flex the exhaust down to fit it. I didn't lookup any specs if they have any as per how much lower it hangs but as it holds more oil and has fins outside the pan it would no doubt hang a certain amount lower.    I looked back at the site and they do have some depth measurements to get a rough comparison to the factory pan total height or hang down if you will at the front and rear of the pan so that will give a good idea how much further down this pan would end up being for ground clearance issues.    2024-2026 GM 6.6L Gas 10L1000 Heavy-Duty Cast Transmission Pan – Pacific Performance Engineering
    • I'm in constant amazement over the number of people that do oil maintenance by how they feel, what they were told, what materials cost, what brand A claims vs brand B.     Come to think of it, this behavior isn't exclusive to oil. 🤔 They drive this way too. 😬   There is a 20 plus page thread on BITOG on Mobil 1 Advanced Clean vs Valvoline Restore and Protect it would be amusing if it were not so........humanly pitiful.   Last Sunday we were are sitting at services and listening to a speaker talk about Jesus parable of the wide and narrow gates and he said something that hadn't dawned on me but totally fit the way people in general are about just about everything. He said there are so few people on the narrow path leading to a good reward not because the the narrow gate was hidden or hard to find but because the wide gate leading to a bad end it so darn easy and uncomplicated to follow!!!
