Throttle response is poor.

I dod this fix yesterday for the heck of it . I did check amd found quite a bit of flex it the bracket before. Wow , I actually spun out backing up my gravel driveway , i was so use to pushing the pedal so far to get the truck to move. I have to relearn myself. What an easy fix for a messed up design !!

Somewhere At Furd headquarters , someone is laughing at all the Chevy guys shoving paint sticks in their gas pedals thinking it will make their truck snappy. I'm a skeptic.[emoji111]

So this is what we've come to, shoving paint sticks in our 40,000 dollar trucks. My oh my, times have changed LOL guess I'll put this on the to-do list!

We spend $$$$$$$$ on things that help our trucks perform better only in our minds and then worry about whether a Cheap paint stick under the pedal mount is stupid?

Try it, and you'll find that this is one thing that will ACTUALLY help you like your truck better.

You don't have to tell.

Use walnut, mahogany, or birch if that will give it more style.

Different design. I checked mine and didn't see as much play as those with the fixed pedals are referencing. More play side to side and movement within the pedal itself where it slides within the adjustment range. I was still able to get a piece of paint stick behind the mount but didn't notice any difference. Your experience could be different.

Adjustable pedals are super helpful when my 5 ft tall wife drives the truck if I had a few too many beers. It's also great when I have my big hunting boots on i can move the pedal in for more room. But it's a vanity feature for sure. It's how I sold my wife on getting the truck so she could move the pedals forward.

I have adjustable pedals and it was joke with the play/flex. I removed the whole assembly down to the plastic mount that has bolts attached to it.

I placed 2qty 1/8" thick plastic washers 1.125" in diameter over the 3qty bolts and put pedal assembly back and tightened down. I then took a plastic shim like a wood shim yet plastic and cut it down. At this point I pried up plastic mount and squeezed caulk and shim behind.

Took truck for "Hot Lap" and this thing now has probably 100% better throttle response! The best and first MOD evey body should be doing! Thanks OP why didn't I open this thread 1yr ago?
