i have a 2014 Silverado with problems. Set cruise control roll down power windows cruise goes off. Put on directional with cruise and try to switch lanes cruise shuts off stabil trak comes on sometimes ripping the wheel out of your hand. Turn the steering wheel with the air on and the fan slows down. this truck is dangeruos my wife won't ride in it any more. Took it to a dealer, can't duplicate it. Told them there was a voltage drop when this is going to happen. Figure they would try to duplicate a drop in voltage see what happens nope they put another 150 miles riding it around. Called main customer service number told them about what was going on looking for tech help. Her response was I will call the dealer and see if you can ride around with them. If thing doesn't get fixed a lawyer is next.

I'm a GM World Class Technician and I get nothing but problem vehicles like this. I've worked on a ton of the 2014's with random electrical problems like this. You know what just about fixes them all?.........Battery cables! I replace both positive cables and the negative cable. I bet you if a technician pulls some DTC's they'll find a bunch of B1325 in a lot of modules. The code will be a low battery voltage code. Basically, there is high resistance in the cables not allowing the full battery voltage to come through, so when a module gets around 9-10 volts instead of 12-14, it does crazy stuff. I would also change the battery a well. I'm almost confident this will correct the concern.

Take it to a different dealer or just buy a new battery yourself. Worth a shot. The factory batteries are pretty bad with a very short lifespan.

On issues like this (where the dealer doesn't listen) I type up a couple of lines detailing the issue - "Customer says ..." and ask the service writer to type my words on the service request. At least that leaves a good record of the problem for future reference.

Do not make your wording too long or the service writer won't want to type that much :-)

Sounds to me like they don't have anyone that diagnose it. You can try another dealer, or call the GM customer care line. Or request a field engineer to come to that dealership. Nothing is more effective than saying "I'm leaving with you until it's fixed, and you want a loaner car" [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Justin,

I recently had a similar experience in my 2014 Camaro. It lit the dash up like a Christmas tree one morning. Steering, ABS, Stabilitrak, etc.. Steering went to about half power. Drove it about a mile to a dealer. They kept it two days. They couldn't clear it for a day. New BCM software. Finally, they called and said they cleared it. They couldn't identify the problem. I could see they had been in the trunk at the battery. I think they checked/cleaned the cables. The battery was only a few months old. There are a lot of these experiences posted over on the Camaro5 forum.
