What is going on with my truck????????

Sounds like you bought my old truck. Dealer could never figure it out on mine, eventually I just traded it in. I'm surprised no one has died due to this widespread problem. GM is a bunch of assholes for not doing a recall on this.

Ya because every truck is the same and this is happening on a good portion of trucks, come on man... So neither you nor the dealer could figure it out, how do you know it is the same exact problem then and GM should do a recall? What should that recall be that you and the OP have to fix this? Or is that an ASSumption?

Hey Guys just to give you an update took the car to the dealership turned out it was the a bad ground which was causing the resistance. They looked up to see if there was a recall for gmc and there isn't. Going to talk to GMC since I have a case open and see if they can ask least pay half of it. Will keep you guys posted. Total cost to repair this is $430.00

where was the bad ground located? Behind the dash as stated earlier?

It is easy. The hardest part is getting to the ground studs once the dash cover is off. I found out if you remove the tweeters it makes the studs easier to reach (only 2 small screws holding in each tweeter). The whole process took me about 20 minutes.

Popped the dash and checked the grounds, both were ok! Maybe the messages coming up in dash where a fluke, who knows?! The dealership couldn't find any codes.

Did you take the grounds off anyway? Mine didn't have interference with the dash insulation but I pulled them off and they were a little loose. I clean the surface under the nut and around the stud on the dash then reinstalled the nut (tighter this time).

I haven't had any error messages since ...

I didn't. I couldn't fit a socket on there and didn't feel like digging out the wrench set. It's really tight in there (that's what she said)! I'll see if the messages reappear and go from there.

G218 Grounds original poster. 10mm open end wrench can reach them. I did mine last weekend at 67k on my '14. Driver side was pinched. Passenger side was fine.

Were you having any issues yet or just preventative maintenance?
