We were coming home from a camping trip and a few miles from home when we hit a bump in road, doors unlocked, locked, stabilitrac flashed and it dropped out of tow/haul mode. Nothing seemed wrong and we continued home without any issues. Unhooked travel trailer and took care of some things. Next day when I went to unload truck, the "service stabilitrac" message was in the DIC. I finished unloading and my wife went on an errand. The truck did not shift out of first gear and the underscore that shows what gear the transmission is in was missing on display.

We had a raccoon problem camping and my first thought was it ate my sensor wires at one of the wheels. I crawled under and checked, they all looked good. It looked like the wires went under the engine cover so I pulled the engine cover. I was very surprised to see a mouse nest and the wiring bundle had the wrap eaten off along with a wire. I cleaned things up, repaired the wire and then remembered, I have a scan tool to check and clear codes. I found U0101, lost communications with TCM. Cleared the code and all good. Test drove truck and all good.

Hoping someone will see this and check under engine cover to see if their wiring has been eaten on by rodents if they have an unexplained code.. or even an issue that does not make sense...

Great info. My Uncle had parked his Jeep Cherokee out at our farm for a few months while he was rehabilitating from illness when he came to get it it would not start. Same thing mouse nests on the engine and wiring chewed in two. Mice have to eat too I guess?

Took a nearly 400 mile trip yesterday, 12.3mpg going, 14,1mpg coming home. Hoping to get back up to 15.5-16mpg when it finishes relearning fuel curves? It was interesting that it says it (obd scanner I used, OBDLINK MX) cleared the mapping and it would take some time to return to where it was...

I had told myself I would look at a BlackBear tune after factory warranty, perhaps it is time for that.. All good, no issues (other than mpg) on trip.
