Looking at 6.2

Yeah I can turn wider, lol. Really like how my galaxy s8 hooked up with it. Started streaming right when I turned the truck back on. Still cant do anything till I get my truck back. Last time I drove a 6.2, I passed, but that truck was $7k more...

This is my first GMC I have the 6.2. I had the 4.6 in a tundra and the 5.7 in the tundra. I promised myself that when I bought another truck I would never go with the smaller engine to get a little better gas mileage. When in chose the GMC. I drove both it wasn't even close. Same as back with the tundra engines. The 6.2 and the 5.7 are close but still a very appreciable difference.

Now the gas cost. On average I pay 50 cents more per gallon paying for premium about 10.00 a week. So I guess it comes down to about 500.00 a year to get to hear that sound and feel snap.

Get the 6.2.

I seriously feel bad for people that have 5.3's on the forums. There are millions of people around the world that look at a '14+ 5.3 and dream of having it. It is indeed a powerful, long lasting, fuel efficient engine anybody in the general public would love to own.

On the forums it's a second rate slow poke lol.

Don't feel sorry for me. I have a new 5.3 and am quite happy with it so far. It's quite a bit more powerful than my last 5.3 and can easily handle whatever I throw at it. It also gets better mileage than anyone has claimed on their 6.2(on these forums).

Sure, it might be nice to have another 60hp sometimes, but I don't want to pay the $15-18 extra at every fillup.

Had a 2013 Chev LTZ 5.3 3.42 gears, best I could get was 14.4ltrs per 100km, traded it for a 2015 Denali 6.2 3.23 gears, my average was 13.2ltrs per 100km, now I have a 2017 GMC SLT 6.2 3.42 gears, average so far is same as Denali 13.2ltrs per 100km , thats about 21mpg for those who don't do metric

No need to feel bad for me. I'm content with my 5.3. I use it to hunt and travel. It does that very well. I don't think it's a slow poke at all. I've learned from 45 years of owning cars and trucks that there's always someone else's car or truck that is faster. Get the one that you are happy with.

That being said, my daily driver is a 2014 loaded SS Camaro.

I would have gladly taken a 6.2 in the package and deal I got, but it was quite a jump..

With that said, I am beyond impressed with my 5.3/6 speed and truck in general when it comes to power.

I run 91+ octane in it anyway because 11.0/1 compression ratio seems pretty high to me.

Smiles per gallon are better than miles per gallon though, lol.

The 6.2 is amazing. I had a 5.3L Sierra, a 5.3L Tahoe, and my wife drives a 5.3L Suburban. I never thought I needed more since they all had plenty of power.

This year I got the 6.2L and holy shit, the difference is amazing. It's so much more fun. So much more responsive and powerful. I don't even care about the Premium gas.

Actually the only thing that I dislike about my truck is the small gas tank hahaha.

I get about 15 in the city and 20-21 on the freeway.

I've had both, a 2014 5.3 and now a 2017 6.2. US MPG averages are 17.5 MPG on the 5.3 over 18,000 miles, 20.3 MPG over 6,000 miles on the 6.2. All averages are hand calculated. So for me the 6.2 is about 15% better on fuel mileage compared to the 5.3. So the only downside is the cost of the engine which for me was about $2k. YMMV

Love it I get 25 mpg highest on trips. Fuel is only like 5-7 bucks more in fill up. Doesn't hurt. Plus you should be using a better grade gas anyways

I'm not convinced that gas is going to spike any time soon. The shale drillers have gelded OPEC. They can't manipulate prices the way they used to.

The 5.3 on E-85 is 40Hp less than the 6.2. If I could have gotten a 6.2 for 40K mmmm tough one. They're sell the Texas and all star packages around here for under 30K.
