I can't answer your question about the mirrors.. However I'm not sure that I would change them unless you're towing often. I have them and they look cool with the chrome and LED lights but the block A LOT of side and diagonal areas. I've almost pulled out in front of a few people because what the huge A pillar didn't block the towing mirrors do. Some days I wish I had the standard mirrors. Besides these things have to hurt millage.

I had a 6.2L in my '14 the year before they went to 8 speed and it was amazing. I'm sure it's even better with the 8 speed, totally worth it. If I were to go back to a half ton it would be first thing on my list

Take a look at this. A lot of great information in there.

Solid deals right now on 6.2 8 speeds. I love my avy, but I can cash in and get a new truck with the big boy motor. They have the 3.23 gears. Only issue is the premium gas, so 6.2 owners is it worth it? Im actually driving a chevy v6 lt cc 4x4 loaner (getting my autoride fixed at dealership), and I got to say the v6 is not near as bad as I thought it would be. I love all the storage and phone integration. Were due for a gas spike, so should I wait for the 2021? Weight loss will make a big difference, but will they still have 6.2? Im seeing around 40k for 6.2 cc 4wd slt. Almost too good to pass up...what would you 6.2 owners do?

Where are you finding a 6.2 crew cab SLT for $40k? Because the cheapest one at Laura GMC is $43k.

No brainer - and drive right to the muffler shop from the dealership - or have the GM pipes put on..........

Laura usually has some around 40k

For random times throughout the year their prices are not as good as they usually are.

$40k is the cheapest I've ever seen a 6.2 new btw

Have had both the 6 speed and now the 8 speed. The 6 speed is a lot more fun to drive mainly because of the 3.42 rear end instead of the 3.23 that come with the 8 speed.

Unless you get the NHT.. It has 3.42 gears. I think 3.73 would be even more fun[emoji12]

Correct on the NHT. I think the truck that should be built would be a standard cab short box, 6.2, 6 speed with the 3.73. Ultimate would be that configuration with the ZL1 super charged 6.2 in it.

Get one. They are good fun motors and the premium isn't bad. Buy you can always add octane booster for cheaper and works the same. I usually add booster unless I have discount points at the gas station. It's The same as buying premium but buying 87 and adding booster yourself. My dad works for a gas company and knows some good info.

Placebo...

6l80 1st gear ratio: 4.03 x 3.42 = 13.78

8l90 1st gear ratio: 4.56 x 3.23 = 14.73

Oh it's nice, real nice

I'm sure it is.

I just don't need it. I've had fast cars in the past, but no longer have the desire. Besides, where I live the fines and consequences for speeding and other shenanigans are waaay too steep nowadays. Burn some rubber and a cop sees you do it, you will get either a dangerous driving charge, or a stunting charge which is automatic 7 day suspension and a court date which comes with a whole bunch of mandatory stuff.

I now have cheap insurance and prefer to keep it that way.

The 5.3 has quite adequate power to get me into all kinds of trouble if I choose. It has roughly equivalent power of the 427 425hp big block chevs of the late 60's. All I have to do is get a tune to remove some of the torque management if I want and this thing will go even quicker. As it is, I find it all I need right now. I also quite like the mileage it appears to be getting. I wasn't paying attention to it today, but while out on sales calls I hit a new best 100km average of 8.4 liters/100km, which works out to about 33.7 mpg cdn, or about ~28 mpg US.
