Yup!

And then they launch their boat onto the trailer.

The trailer isn't far enough in the water so they rev up the motor to push the boat up.

The whole rig is bouncing and rocking and they rely on a little pin inside the trans to hold up.

lol

We're planning to buy a boat next year.

Nothing fancy. Just 17' to 20' Bayliner type of thing.

We went to boat ramps just for watching.

Didn't see many screw ups but what stood out was that maybe 7 out of 10 drivers just put the truck/car in "P" w/o applying the E-brake.

This sound when they shift out of "P" again.....BANNGGG.

That's when their tow vehicle becomes a submarine.Wonder what a towing company charges to pull a truck & trailer from 20' feet of water lol.

I guess I'll let y'all know when I go to launch my boat for the first time. It'll be fun with only a 6x4 and not 6x6. Who knows maybe one of y'all will help pull all 20k+ lbs of me out lol

I'm a little far away but I'd sure like to watch :)

I'm pretty sure we'll end up just using the 454s to help us up the boat ramp, or at least make sure we don't go backwards into the water. The boat ramp in Port Canaveral is large and well done so I really shouldn't have any problems other than being a noob. If I keep the boat long enough maybe I'll get ambitious and swap the 454s for 2 6.0s.

Practice a little before, take the boat to an empty parking lot and try backing into a spot meant for cars, might help.I'm sure you'll get good at it,just need a little practice

2:45 mark is especially painful to watch

Not sure what happened but his rear tires a locked. Not sure if that happened because it submerged or if it simply slid down a wet ramp. Wonder if he applied the parking brake too?

it was a boat ramp and my 96 gmc... it may be what drove my dad to get a brand new one.

he was using a jeep liberty straining for dear life on the 21 foot long trailer with a 18 foot overall on the boat.

I am not a fan of automatics and gas engines..and towing at the same time.

I rowed five gears up a ramp in four low once just for sarcasm in my 96.

problem with pickups.. the little boat combos are as wide as the truck. I need a spotter at night.

Can't see the empty trailer.

time for a bigger boat, make it easier. :)

my locale must be pros, never saw anything goofy yet. We go to a busy place.. tidal river to boot.

My bet is that's an ocean ramp. Look at the slime on it. You need to put the truck in four wheel drive when using them. Even with parking brake it just slid down the ramp.

Actually my goal is to just have work train me how to park tractor trailers in the yard. I figure if I can park a 53 footer, rail cars, and however long our "pups" are (35'?), I should be able to do a 40ft boat trailer.

Went to our local lake yesterday, evidently I remembered how to back a boat trailer, got it first shot when launching & recovery
