Boredom is a state I rarely experience. Like never. Had a nine year old daughter of a girl I dated once tell me boredom is the state of "Not Entertained". My mind is way to active for that silliness. I've never required external motivation either so have a hard time understanding the carrot and stick crowd. Ya know the type, they look at you and ask "What's in it for me"? Not a question I see I need to ask someone else. It's a question I need ask myself. How does is benefit me. The list in this case is long. SO it isn't patience so much as I see a benefit in it.

I find in my case that every time I said 'screw the cost', it cost me more than I was ever willing to pay.

Divorce ring a bell?

I never get board when I have a traveling companion. Back in the double nickel days interstate 10 was excruciating traveling alone. I did often.

For me it's not about boredom.

It's the inner urge to use my vehicle for what it is intended for.

Getting from A to B within a reasonable time.

so long

Here we go. A personal point of reference to make a blanket statement meant to be universally true. Do we all have the same definition of 'reasonable'? I can walk to Denver, a thousand miles, or I can drive 50 mph on county secondary roads. 50 mph seems way more reasonable to me.

I think 70 on the interstate is fast enough, I do go a little faster sometimes. Our secondary roads in some cases are too fast. I don’t know what they’re thinking. The double nickel, I’d be drooling with boredom. You must have the patience of a saint.
