You guys realize your arguing about 5000 pound trucks lol! The 6.2 is faster than the 5.3 that goes without saying, but you make it seem like the 6.2 will take a corvette or a mustang in a drag race. It is a truck not a sports car! If you want to go fast there are a lot better vehicles for that. Also when you quote those 0 to 60 times, that is stock not with a lift and big mud tires. After you put that stuff on your 6.2 it is probably pretty close to the same 0 to 60 as a stock 5.3 The bottom line is whether you have a 5.3 or a 6.2 they will both do what a truck engine needs to do, the 6.2 will just do it a little easier.

its like buying a V6 Camaro vs a V8 Camaro. Both will get you from A-B, that's a fact. However, the bigger motor will do it with a big smile on your face, and isn't that the point for a car guy? Otherwise you might as well get a Prius......

I agree with you about that, but your talking about a truck not a sports car. They have different purposes. Do you not think your lift and big tires have effected your trucks performance? You think it will still run 0-60 in 5.7 seconds? You have a sweet truck but it's not a sports car. Personally I own a truck to do truck stuff with, not to just drive around and look pretty. If you aren't going to use a truck for truck stuff you might a well drive a Prius.....

I don't want to argue about this but this is exactly right.

My.regular cab 5.3 blows the doors off my wife's 6.2 cc. Hers is lifted on 33s. Mine is lowered on 28/29

The 6.2 is faster yes. But I'm not buying a crew cab truck to go fast. That s all I'm saying

i want a truck that looks good (hence what I've done), is fun to drive (6.2), and still can be used as a truck. So having a 6.2 pickup is the best of everything. I used to have a Camaro SS when I was in my 20s PLUS a pickup, but that's no longer in the cards with a family so what I have now is the best compromise. Is it still 5.7 0-60, of course not. Will it still out run a stock 5.3, probably. And obviously it'll outrun a lifted 5.3. For a 5000lb+ truck it still outruns my wife's NX F-Sport which is impressive enough for me.

You buy a truck that you are satisfied with. Some are satisfied with the 5.3. others won't feel the 5.3 is good enough once they have driven the 6.2 and thus go with the 6.2. End of debate.

But you don't use your truck as a truck.... you said in your build post and I qoute "you're right my truck is definitely a pavement princess lol. If I pull in a dirt parking lot my friends nuts lol" hate to tell you hauling a couple of 2×4s or pulling a boat is not truck stuff. That is all stuff you can do with a car or SUV. Let me know when you throw 60 bags of mulch in the bed. Or haul a bed full of rock, or go drive through the woods and fields to go get a deer. That is what you call doing truck stuff, but I know you won't know anything about that because As you said you own a pretty pavement princess. As far a out running your wife's car I wouild hope so that Lexus runs 0-60 in 7 seconds, not really what I would consider fast.

This went from the op asking "Does anyone know if the 6.2 is available in an LT trim model?" to this now...

This forum is as bad or worse as the Subaru forums at times, lol.

I actually own a coyote mustang and a 6.2 truck.

Truck will beat it to 30mph, and it will beat it to 60 unless it's a good driver.

Truck is tuned though.

Truck is legit quick, not just for a truck.

If you don't own a 6.2, you can't comprehend what it's like to drive around this comfy landmonster all day like it's just any old huge luxury suv, and then just get occassionally reminded of what's under the hood. I don't know what it is, but it puts a smile on my face constantly, and I've driven much faster cars, I even own a much faster car.

I think the truck is "overpowered" actually. Like it's too much power for the brakes, chassis and suspension. Anybody that's ever had a highly modified car knows it's pretty fun when the car has too much power.

wow, seems you caught some feelings there lol. I don't play in the mud or chase deer, but i load my truck up for the range, with yard shit, I've loaded it up with furniture to move friends/family countless times and I've loaded it up with a myriad of other crap that wouldn't fit in a car or SUV. So even though it's a pavement princess the bed still can be and is used. You can probably chase your deer with a Subaru Forester or crosstek just fine, so is that really "truck shit", because the Subaru that you CAN chase deer with isn't hauling what I have. As for the Lexus, it is quite a bit lighter than the truck with a turbo 4, so it's still impressive that at over 5500lbs the truck is still a sub 6 second 0-60.

PS, glad you enjoyed my build thread and read it so thoroughly that you memorized lines.

Actually I just looked at your build thread only had to make it to the second page before you called your truck a pavement princess, your words not mine so don't get all butt hurt. Guarantee I have hauled more stuff then you would ever dream of with your pretty pavement princess.

do you get a cookie, chest pin, or trophy for hauling more lol. And how would you prove that you've hauled more? Do you call a friend or family member to verify?

Guess that's the difference between me and you, I don't have anything to prove. My truck is not a pavement princess, it is a truck. My truck is a tool the same as my guns, hand tools, or lawn equipment.
