........... "If it just came on while at highway speeds then I wouldn't have a problem with it but when I'm driving 25 miles an hour and come up to a hill, I want that V8 power right away. Not when the engine feels like switching back into "regular" mode and out of gimp mode."

Took liberty and printed only the pertinent part of the quote for my reply ...................... but...............

Maybe treat it like a "Cruise Control" and a little ways before you get to that hill, just bump the accelerator a little bit and it should jump right on out of V4 and into V8 before you even get to that hill. No more "gimp mode" for climbing hills. That's exactly how I drive with mine in V4 vs V8 when out on the highway. And when around town or the neighborhood cruising at say just >30mph (I'm just guessing at the actual speed, it varies), if the load increases by picking up a little speed, it shifts pretty seamlessly for me as well. In fact it may shift back and forth several times and I hardly ever notice.

How's it affect the warranty, my truck is a 2016 CPO covered to 100k miles bumper to bumper.

Just unplug it if you need warranty work done. No trace left. I just had my truck in for some work and unplugged it the night before. Simple but effective. Highly recommend.

Thank you, I really hate the way the tranny bangs driving around town.

Yep my 6 speed is clunky. Had a 2002 Yukon and it was clunky too. I think it’s a GM trademark. My wife drives a Kia Sorento. it’s smooth as can be and she beats the hell out of that car. 70k miles later not a thing has broken.
