What is the best way you guys have found to tap into the BCM harness?  I have some of those scotch lock connectors but I always thought those were kinda hokey.  Soldering would be best but I'm scared of belting the harness wire or burning something important.

I soldered the hot and ground didn’t burn anything peel back a inch of the coating wrapped the footwell wire around. Little solder took right in. Wrapped with harness tape.

No harness yet. Essentially, it’ll be 3, maybe 4 wires. One for dome lamp, one for ambient LED, 1 or 2 for Ground.

Pgamboa, have you completed your harness for this yet?

Thanks!!

Worked great for my footwell lights which I wanted on this lighting circuit!

So I just now did this with LED strips I got from Renegade Kustoms. There is no power to the strips. I’m confused big time; I don’t want the gray wire, and I even tried the striped wire on the upper right of the BCM. Now I have three stripped wires with no solution. Can anyone weigh in on this? I’m looking for: LIGHTS IN THE FOOTWELLS THAT STAY ON WHEN DASH/HEADLAMPS ARE ON AT NIGHT. Thanks in advance!7182EC5F-093A-4623-AC67-812E48CCC367.thumb.jpeg.5af3fd54c8ac635cb3eb383cc5ab82cc.jpeg

Just spitballin here, but that Yellow wire should only go hot when your headlights are on. Were you testing it with the headlights on, or in Auto postion in daylight? Maybe take the headlights out of Auto and to ON and retest. Only thing I can think of, as Phil is usually dead-balls-accutate when it comes to this wiring stuff on our trucks

It’s the yellow wire to the far left of the BCM stays on with lights in on and auto. Where did you ground out to?

I want to do this mod also with the GM leds in the front foot well and also in the rear possibly mount the led under the front seats.  Was your harness just a hot and ground wire from each LED?

Yes just a hot and ground tapped into the yellow wire on the left of the BCM and I think I picked up a ground next to that on the 6th plug.
