Rattle / Vibration coming from Dash

I had my 16" Silverado 271 into the dealer for service and oil change. There was very intense Rattle / Vibration. The truck is still under warranty so they fixed the problem; which they said was some sort of seal between the dash and windshield. They said the put some foam between there to pad the area. Things were great for about two weeks and the sound came back; which is very frustrating.  I'm bringing it back to the dealer this Friday to have the issue looked at again. Has anyone dealt with this  issue and have a permanent solution?

Thanks!

Explain more. What trans and what body style. Vibration in seat or wheel. Any aftermarket parts at all.

Have you looked in your upper and lower glove box. I had a rattle turned out a pair of sunglasses had rolled around and were vibrating against the lid. Sometimes you get lucky its just simple fix.

2016 Silverado Quad Door Z71 Midnight edition.  Just put on a custom stainless exhaust with Black Widow  250 Muffler, but the original sound started and returned before this was installed this past weekend.

There is noticeable Vibration while driving on highway fold up center console shakes the most.  I figured this was due to the aggressive tires that comes with the Z71 Package.

The sound comes from where the front of dash meets windshield. I've put my finger there to apply pressure and the sound either goes away or moves to the passenger side.

I will have a video up shortly.

I have the same rattle especially when cold. Changes a lot with the road surface occurs mostly at in town speeds. I find it funny as I have never had any vehicle that rattles on the dash. You can tell that portion of the dashboard isn't fixed to what is underneath, it just lays on top. Light finger pressure makes the sound go away. I will eventually stick some form of insulation between the parts.

I knew GM interiors from days gone by were very plastic/rattly sounding. I was hoping the new truck would kick that stigma but I have been lubricating and re positioning joints the entire time I have owned it and it still has some I need to address. Specifically this and something behind the rear seat over aggressive high frequency bumps. Most likely something in the rear seat fold up mechanism.

I would start but looking under the truck in the trans tunnel. Hard to tell by video. But if it was me I would remove half the dash and test drive it. I will have my dash out this weekend.

The CD rattles in my 2016,,, It did in my 2014 as well,   It rattled in my 2010 and 2013 Traverses.  Just stick a disk in seems to stop it.

Good video. It cracks me up on this truck, GM is apparently 100% against any felt insulation tape on plastic to plastic contact surfaces. This has been standard issue in about any vehicle interior I have pulled apart from the early 90s on except GM. Basically every dash/panel rattle in the truck could have been prevented with less than 5 dollars worth of felt tape product during installation.

Issue is, the new truck is so quiet inside it amplifies any rattle/noises you will hear.

I agree but the tape is 5 and the engineering and labor is 4 times that. I have seen gm have meetings to approve a .07 cost machining cost.
In there credit the wires are felt tapped.

Yeah, I understand why it isn't there. I am super picky about rattles creeks etc in a vehicle (especially one this quiet).

On most of my vehicles I have spent a pretty considerable amount of time fixing noises like this. The dealer is usually garbage at these fixes and they don't get paid much to repair so they don't care which is why I don't even fool with taking them in for warranty work.

I had an appointment for Friday to have them look at this.  I am going to try the fix in the video and see if that works first tomorrow.
