Is this good pricing for level install and Goodyear Duratrac?

So I got a quote today for a shop to install my motofab level today and they said it'll be $500 with the alignment and for the set of Duratrac it'll be $1974.80 with mounting, balanced, and installed. Is this fair pricing?

I'd say that price is a little bit high.

$1,000 for Duratracs, mounted and balanced

$100 for an alignment

2 hours of labor @ $120/hr for the level install (and that's a conservative hourly rate)

That would be $1,340.  Add in some contingency and you'd be at about $1,500.

That does seem quite high. But it depends on what size the Duratracs are. There’s a significant  price difference between 17inch tires and 20inch tires. Also depends on if it is just a front level or if you are also adding blocks in the rear. Either way your quote seems high. My local shop quoted me $250 for front level install and alignment.

I'm going for 285/60R20

Those are pricey tires, but I think the prices I'm seeing on TireRack are a little inflated.  A local shop should be able to do much better.

That's $1,640. Still a conservative estimate, so I'd say the shop is expensive.

Edit: And based on the above poster's labor charge for the level install and alignment, it would be only $1,550.

285/60/20 10-ply duratracs are $1400/set at tirebuyer.com. Free shipping to your house or you can have the set shipped to one of their installers. Last time I did this the mounting and balancing ran me about $130 at the installer. I would ask your shop if they will price match.

Ask for a complete breakdown of the total cost. In the meantime you should look around for different shops and get different quotes.

I purchased a set of 4 GoodYear DuraTrac Tires last year - late fall - size P275/55R20.

The total with mount - balance - alignment - old tire disposal - etc. was $1,072.25 minus the $50.00 rebate.
