The Aging Process Is Showing Up

I will be 65 in November.

Older guys can start chiming in.

I earned a living doing physical work ( construction) and have always been active, no desk jobs.

Besides the normal aches and pains that occur when doing things that used to not bother me I have a new one.

Lately my left hip has been bothering me at night, I sleep on my left side.

We have had an air bed for 20 years. Love it.

No replacing worn out mattresses.

Easy to move compared to a king mattress bed.

One thing nice about an air bed is being able to adjust the firmness.

If my back was hurting I could set it to my comfort level at that time.

I softened up the firmness for my hip problem and it seems to have helped.

Just a couple questions on the bed?  Is it worth the money bottom line and what if any problems or gripes about the bed do you or your wife have about it.  I have been told by a couple people that the sleep number bed is the only way to go?  I am sick of mattresses myself going to shit after a few years...

I had an early version of the sleep number and it sucked.  I have heard they are much better now though so take that with a grain of salt.

I personally sleep on a Tempur-Cloud Supreme and love it.  Don't get hot and it seems to conform very well.

Same age coming up in September. It's mainly my knees that like to remind me they are in a bad mood.

Spent most of my working life standing and walking on concrete floors. Wear out a pair of work boots in about six months.

Ya got me thinking about the air mattress thing. Keep waking up a couple times a night to un-kink the legs.

Before the air bed we had top of the line pillow tops mattresses, flipped and rotated regularly for even wear.

One set was $1500. Lasted about 8 years before you could see where we laid. Got $225 on pro rated warranty towards a new set.

Second set was $2000. Lasted about 10 years. Pro rated warranty was $250.

Bought an air bed.

The air bed with a memory foam pad for the top and a protective cover to keep the warranty in tact was $2000.

Still sleeps like new.

This air bed is a American National Manufacturing Inc.

americannationalmfg.com I think.

They have been great.

At about 1 year old an air bag seam broke.

They admitted they had a manufactures problem.

They sent 2 new air bags over night.

Still have one for a spare.

About 4 years ago a quick release air hose fitting started leaking.

Sent me a complete kit over night.

I now have spares in stock.

The air pump itself and the controls have been flawless.

We have pillow top mattress in our second home, 2 bedrooms, and a new foam mattress in our guest bedroom at our main home.

We have slept on them all many times.

I like the air bed the best and so does the wife.

We might go this way...I could sleep on a board, but my wife could sleep on a pillow. It would be a good compromise.

My parents have one and like it.

Anyone tried the latest rage, the Casper mattress?
I've heard about them, no experience. Come compressed in a box?

Yep. I know of no one personally that owns one, just the people being paid to carry their advertisements that get them as a "gift", I'm sure. They all swear by them, but they said the same things about sleep # beds too

65 in October. Massage therapy once a month has replaced my twice a week chiropractor. It wasn't my mattress. It was too many birthdays.

I’m 62, operated specialty clearing equipment 12-7 mostly the first 25 working years of my life. I have the associated aches and pains. What use to take me a day, I now spread out through the week. My father in law, 87 who we visit 4 times a year just put out 55 bags of mulch. Something that would have taking me a week to do. Some of us just abused our bodies too much during our invincible years.

Yes, we have one. It's ok. More flexible than a regular mattress. Wife was getting the sore hip and this mattress has helped quite a bit.

Was in a convenience store getting gas and a six-pack for when my brother came over later that day.

Young lady at the counter says "can I have your birth date please?"

I responded "you most certainly can, I've used it way too many times"

WTI futures <> current 4-7% inflation and national average gas price over $4.00/gallon.   The spot price, at delivery, is currently $87-$95/barrel which is why gas prices remain high.   Edit: oH mY gOd mEnTaL BrEaKdoWn In tHE pOsT aBOve mInE. • He does, actually. In another unrelated video he mentions the president called him in the middle of the night to relay some information on a cause (religious based) that he's invested in. Glenn expressed concern that another leftist administration could wield too much power with some procedure the Pentagon was using, classifying certain religions a certain way. Being that he is LDS (Latter Day Saints), he gets hate all the time from ALL over the political spectrum, so he's invested in this. Trump called him back at 5AM to tell him he had made some changes to that classification.   So, yes, they are and have been in contact regularly since the start of the administration. Glenn, of course, always asks his permission before discussing anything on the air.   I already spent an hour or more just searching for these videos. I may have my numbers wrong - I'm not a numbers guy. It may have been a MILLION barrels, not 1.5. The point is, our President, by his actions, gives a crap about America, and US - this is completely OPPOSITE the actions of the prior administration who projected hatred for anyone who wasn't following the left's edicts in lock-step.   Remember, they called January 6th an "Insurrection", when there were ZERO weapons among the crowd, undercover FBI agents agitating the crowd, along with paid leftists acting as aggressors, egging the crowd on in an attempt to whip everyone into a frenzy. It's all been proven.  Pelosi refused Trumps request for more National Guard troops. This smells 100% like an inside job for those with critical thinking skills. Only a handful of guys in the crowd got wrapped up in that, thankfully, but EVERYONE was searched out based on cell phone data, and charges were brought against many. And 6 or so people were locked up and left in solitary confinement for YEARS with ZERO due process!! If you give the slightest crap about our Nation, REGARDLESS of your political leanings, this should frighten you to your core. This is what men suffered, bled, fought, and died against 250 years ago!   This has gone FAR BEYOND left vs. right. This is a  threat to America, and our way of life. This is PRECISELY why Trump, a BILLIONAIRE who could have chosen to take Melania and sit on some tropical island that he could afford to buy himself and RELAX, instead chose to run for office, get hate from literally every corner of the media, get ATTEMPTS on his LIFE constantly, and begin to repair some of the severe damage that's been done to this Great Nation.   I don't know why I bother wasting my precious time here. Everyone has their minds made up. They won't realize we all were correct until it's too late ... after they elect another tyrant that hates America to office (Obama), or another puppet whose administration is secretly running the show behind the scenes (Biden).
