Happy Monday!

Well today was a real monday for me :/ . So i Walked out to my truck at lunch time to grab my wallet and i noticed my interior had more light entering  which was odd (all my windows are tinted). So as i get closer it looks like the window is down.. Ok weird.. walk around and yep someone smashed my window and stole all my belongings including my backpacks and wallet right out of my work parking lot where crime rarely happens.

I think its time to buy a security dash cam and was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction.

Black vue has a pretty bomb one 4k resolution with WiFi. I plan on getting one and some of the other guys on here have it.

Cameras are great, maybe next time you'll get to watch it happen.  I hate to say it, but if you hadn't left things like back packs and, worse, you wallet in the car for the thieves to see, you probably would not have been broken into.  Not saying it's your fault, but you did make yourself a target.

Sorry this happened to you.  It is an awful, violating, experience.  I hope your items are replaceable and the thief gets the correction he/she needs.  Looking forward, a camera is a good idea. Even with a camera though, chances are you won't get your stolen items back.  I have  a heavy gauge aluminum box, chained up in my locked canopy for the times when I need to secure items in my truck.  My setup is not bullet-proof, but may discourage a quick smash and grab.

I agree. I have to tell my wife at times when she goes to work to stop leaving her phone in the car. Even when we go out, she will try to leave her wallet in the car. I have to remind her to take it with her. It's the temptation factor for a casual thief, "Hey, it's sitting right there, this will be a quick one". Hopefully he will be able to get his stuff back.

We both have a dash cam, but I see that as only good for when I'm driving to have for accidents. I leave it in my car for the parking lot accident when I'm gone, but I'm sure the camera will be gone as well if my truck gets broken into.

Blame the victim is the cop out for everything , you should not have to go the work and take all your stuff with you with out being robbed  because your stuff is in sight of a theif , but truth is if they get caught they are given all your info ,because you accused them or video-ed them, but u are not allowed to get any of there info because now they are protected from you ,

Laws are 2 protect the thieves, my neighbors camera caught someone going into there car stole a few dollars and a small wallet with all her new born baby papers that she put there for her appointment the next day, when  she  called the   police they were real apologetic but in reality they said you will never see your stuff again , she asked if She should call the news and show them the video the guy looked right at the camera, their advise was don't !, because they could come back and hurt you so just cut your loses  , he video-ed the security camera footage with his cell phone made a report and left that was 2 + years ago never got her stuff or satisfaction of an arrest , camera did not help her at all !

Stay on topic. OP is looking for opinions on cameras. Blaming OP is not the purpose of the thread

I know he is wanting camera info but every time I hear of someone getting their wallet stolen it reminds me of the Old Charles Bronson movie Death Wish 2 where a gang of thieves steals his wallet and the shows up at his crib, kills the housekeeper etc.  OP be very cautious in the near future.

Most comments are connected to the topic and I think members should be allowed to offer related items for an op to consider.  I do agree that when personal criticisms are given it is inappropriate but alternatives should be welcomed. (imo)
