taking your eyes off the road too long

Nothing like having random pop-up messages that cause you to take your eyes off the road so you cant focus your attention on driving.

 

Anyone that needs to be told this shouldn't be driving.

Yep I tell just what I think every time it displays.  I do the same thing when the On-star limited services message plays once a month.

I guess I am fortunate to understand English or I would have to press the button, select a language and then read while mowing down innocent pedestrians.

I've seen this message as well, but it only seems to come up while in park.  Is this popping up while moving on some trucks?  If so, that is crazy and I doubt it is supposed to.  Some lawyer would have a field day with that.

Mine has not came up in park yet.  I have only had the truck 10 days and have seen it twice.  Honestly, I cant swear to the first time but the one that just happened popped up when I was driving down the road.

This discussion has appeared in the recent past, something like the actual reminder. It's a random occurrence and effortless to press ok. I suspect repeated reminders like this are  effective albeit annoying.

Heck, I find myself reading that red permanent sticker on my visor at the most inopportune times.  When I’m on the interstate it seems compelling to flip my visor down and get my reading glasses out of my console storage.   When it happens at night, I have to hold the flashlight between my knees to train the beam on it.  Hit an expansion joint?   Gotta start all over.  Geez.

what I’ve witnessed is the message appearing at what seem to be random intervals, upon cranking the truck.   It will stay on the display until I acknowledge,even if I jam it into drive and take off.

This happens to me just when I've started driving. It pops up randomly and won't go away unless you press ok sometimes it comes back immediately.  Just one of the many reasons I've started looking for another (non-GM) truck already.

I love the little lights that pop in different vehicles I own as I drive. The one that’s says keep your eyes on your the road is the winner.

My buddy and i  were talking about this the other day. The pop up message takes your eyes off the road which is pretty ironic. Mine has happened a few times while driving and i have no idea why. You also have to press the ok button or it will stay on which makes no sense. On my ford escape the message goes away on its own.

It's not bad on my SLT with the big screen, but my 2500 has the small screen and it takes you about 30 seconds to squint and read the whole thing. You are definitely hitting the ditch if you try.
