Last thing is that the horse power is the same on the 5.3’s and the 6.2 is like 10 horse power more with less 10 pounds of torque from the 18 and because it’s a new 10 speed they had to borrow technology from Ford. There’s an article on it I’ve read.

Well I guess I need to get to selling my 08 and a plane ticket to St Louis as the dealers around here do not have what I want or the prices.  Thanks everyone.  Anything I should look for while test driving other then the shake/vibration?

"I'm looking at a 2018 Sierra SLT  crew cab std bed"   Other than this, look for color and price!  (I assume 4X4 is a given)

Because it’s an option, get one with LED headlight upgrade, think it’s a premium package but you’ll have to check cause it’s night and day difference from the stupid projector lights. Good luck on finding what you want, currently even in Texas it’s getting low on inventory but still out there. Demontrond GMC ( Fred Price sales manager) has some left, Henna Chevrolet in Austin Tx may have some, Buckalew Chevy (Jimmy the Greek) in Conroe Tx. You can have a dealership look one up for you but please make sure to get email confirmation.

Unless you want the latest tech, you really can't beat the pricing they are offering on the 2018's now.

Chances are the 2019 will be a recall nightmare are slim but you never know on a brand new platform.

Isn’t it exciting! Just knowing we’ve most likely got one of the last most dependable and lasting pickups on the road. [emoji6]

Not wanting any issues to start up on my 2002 Silverado, but it has been a great truck for only being two years into a brand new platform.  Other than fuel pump, slip yoke clunk and steering wheel clunk, it has been a rock solid vehicle for the past 181k miles.

Completely agree, those are some of the best year built trucks too, keep it, sit back and watch the new trucks vibrate, bounce, get pulled into boat ramps needing our trucks to pull them out cause of huge reduction of weight LOL! Trucks are trucks and need to stay as trucks, heavy, powerful and made of strong metal. I love carbon fiber but not something I want my truck bed made out of.

Same decision I just made.  I picked up my '18 SLT crew with the 5.3 yesterday.  Love it!  The prices were too good to pass up.

Great job, you’ll love it especially driving next to a new one that looks like a cross breed between a Tundra and a Ford watching the new owner clinching on to steering wheel while in absolute fear of the rear end going somewhere else...lol. I’m kidding, I hope no one has serious issues with their new pricey purchase. I bet the standard bed trucks without the carbon fiber and plastics will drive fine but geez, they look like cross bred from competitors

Which Style do you like better? 2019 or 2018? Especially referring to the Front end.

Engines and interior will be similar.

New bed and tailgate are cool.

I like the new Denali and that’s it but soso about the new design. When the new 14’s and 16’s came out that was nice but these new ones almost look like a Nissan Titan or cross bred from a ford and a tundra
