Same decision I just made.  I picked up my '18 SLT crew with the 5.3 yesterday.  Love it!  The prices were too good to pass up.

Nice Son!  I have a 16 SLT......amazing it runs flawless @60K now!  Only thing I ask?  Dump factory oil at 1K and after 2nd oil change use BG-Products for your GDI....

I will say that if my 2008 wasnt turning into a rust bucket I would probably keep it.  I love it  Bed is rusting and now I just saw bubbles on the hood.  Kills me because I took such good care of it.  I do have the need for a crew cab now that the family grew to 4.

Well I guess I need to get to selling my 08 and a plane ticket to St Louis as the dealers around here do not have what I want or the prices.  Thanks everyone.  Anything I should look for while test driving other then the shake/vibration?

Your grin in the rear view as you push down on that pedal. At that moment you will know it's going home with you

That was a big deciding factor for me.  I have a 1/2 mile private gravel drive and my '11 was starting to rust more than I like.  Good news is that the neighbors and I are paving it in August!

Which Style do you like better? 2019 or 2018? Especially referring to the Front end.

Engines and interior will be similar.

New bed and tailgate are cool.

The body and interior are nice in both the 18 &19, imo.  The new engines and engine management system in the 19's are where any excitement may exist.

The 19’s hp and torque is not impressive at all

Yes, this is part of the excitement.  I think there will continue to be a lot of debate on performance (or maybe lack of it) but the body and interior won't generate many strong issues, imo.

Absolutely agree. In addition, I do hope sales sky rocket and GM has extreme success.

GET IT! I debated on this too. I got the 2018 SLT Premium Plus Package 4x4 for 43k. With my trade in i got 34k out the door. I love this truck even though its only been 5 days of owning it. THERES NOT ONE THING I DONT LIKE ABOUT IT!

Especially with all the great rebates and incentives going on, why not? You won't regret it. Plus this body looks 10x better than the new one.

I thought about this as well. Went with the 18. In addition to the issues with new models, I didn’t think there was any chance of getting as good of a deal on the 19s. Just my two cents. You have to be comfortable with your decision. Good luck.

Nothing more comfortable, driving a tried and proven power train. I almost waited for the 19’s but decided not to be the Guinea Pig.

Yeah but it got close to 10 percent lighter

So add 10% more horsepower for an unloaded approximation.

Also there is a lot of areas to improve with the transmission, stock ecu and tcu tuning, and ride quality. All of which have supposedly changed

Horse power for 5.3 is same, 6.2 is 5 e93bde8e8b0bcb6b75f689cac7c47f4c.pnghp more, 10 less on torque. But hey, we’re all entitled to their own opinion. I just hope GM does really well with sales.
