Denali34 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 I am going to get my truck ceramic coated soon. Anybody have any recommendations in the Atlanta area they have used with great luck? I have talked to a couple of company's and they all seem to be within the $2,000 range. Glasslife Atlanta is who Im leaning towards. Thanks!

RyanbabZ71 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Wow pricey. I bought the Adams kit for $125 and did it myself on my car. Either way the protection will be good. Post up some photos when done Ryan B.

I don’t mind spending the money as long as it lasts like they claim it will. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lgetz Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 If you are inclined to put in the work and have time try performing the job yourself. I purchased a Griot's Garage 6 inch buffer, Lake Country polishing/finishing pads, Meguiars 105 and 205. Performed a complete correction on a friends red 2012 VW Golf with very noticeable paint swirls and a silver 2012 Silverado 2500HD with moderate swirls. Took 6 hours on the Golf and 10 on the Silverado but the results were great. Followed up with a coat of Meguiars #26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax. Both were put up for sale and the buyers commented that they looked terrific for their age. Black vehicles are a pain to work on. Removed some scratches on the hood of a 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and I had to work hard to get results I was happy with. My 2015 All Terrain does not need paint correction but some light scratches on the hood induced by the neighbors cat came off easy.
cbrsilv15 Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 For 2k, I would expect to have it fully corrected, clear bra on the front applied and then ceramic coated. 2k for just the correction and CC seems pretty high. Does that shop usually work on exotics? They might be used to charging an arm and a leg.
Denali34 Posted July 9, 2018 Author Posted July 9, 2018 I dropped it off on 7/3 and will pick it up 7/16. They are charging me $1850 for paint correction and 6 coats of ceramic. To add clear bra would be an additional 1k. They just finished my brothers ZL1 and did amazing. Worth the money no doubt.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lgetz Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 So how did your truck turn out Denali? Post pics if available. Who ended up performing the job? Were you satisfied with it? Enquiring minds want to know.
Denali34 Posted July 29, 2018 Author Posted July 29, 2018 So here is first wash after letting it cure 2 weeks later. Glasslife Atlanta did the work on it. So very pleased with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dnt Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 Nice looking ride Denali34. Nothing looks better than black when it is clean. If I knew someone in Nashville that could do the job perfectly for 2k I would be all over it...........just not sure who to trust up here and it is way too far to Atlanta LOL. I did just add the Autobahn Huper Optik ceramic coating to the windows. Seems to make a difference in the interior temperature when sitting in the sun. Black is one HOT color Haha
Lgetz Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 Black looks splendid when it is just washed but doesn't last clean at all. Wore me out trying to keep my 14 black All Terrain looking good. Good choice on the tint DNT. Huper Optik makes high quality product. Not inexpensive but worth it IMO.
Likarok Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 You are saying they did 6 coatings. The kit you buy will not give you enough for 6 coatings will it? Do you actually need to do 6? And did they do the glass and wheels as some websites are suggesting?
Black02Silverado Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 It is expensive. Not worth it to me on my 2002, just to old to put that kind of money into. Here is a picture after I just got done putting a coat of Dura Gloss on it. Not to bad for a17yr old black paint. Not sure what is up. I tried to fix this so it was right side up and I couldn't get it to work.
Likarok Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Yeah I think I am staying old school to, but for those with Black it could be the answer to keeping swirl free and looking good!
