So I was messing with my bed tie downs, and I figured there is no way in the world GM would make them with some kind of backing plate so you could take them on and off. So I unscrewed one.

The backing plate fell in to an area of my truck that I believe is equivalent to never never land. Anyone ever done this????

Well, if you need another one I have an extra. Just pay for the shipping to get it to you.

Let me know.

Rear ones drop through the space between fenders and bed. I did the same with one of mine and it dropped through. I would think the center ones over the wheel wells do the same. Maybe it's laying on top of the fender liners?

Magnet on a flexible stick to remove it? I’m not sure the cost of buying one will justify if you don’t own one already. I would worry about it bouncing around in there if you leave it. There are GM instructons on how to remove them. I believe it is to loosen them up and tilt them to get one ear at a time out.

Yep - dropped one in the front a year ago, still there and I don't hear it rattle ever. All covered up by the stake pocket, now way to snake a magnet around and into the hole

I have been wondering how those actually come out.... way to go GM lol....

I cant believe they dont supply you with enough to fill all the holes in the bed.

But I'll be buying those bull rings instead.

I bought an extra set, filled up 8 of the 9 holes just to avoid the possibility of this.......

Same issue ... lost in the great abyss!  Before you drive the truck and it ends up going any further, try using a flashlight and a coat hanger to grab it.  I was fortunate enough to fish it out, after thinking it was lost forever.
