Doing a rear diff service on my 05 Tahoe LT with the G80. Anyone know which auto parts store carries the bolts for the rear diff cover? They r so very rusty

Not sure...however you can take one out and match it in stainless at a bolt And nut supplier, which I am sure would be cheaper than an auto store

When I did mine, I found that when I pounded the 6 point socket on them to get them off, they "cleaned up" fairly well and I ended up reusing them without any issues.  You are replacing that cover right?  What else you planning on doing?

Drop them a glass of apple cider vinegar overnight.

You can always get ARP stainless bolts.

ARP makes replacement bolts.  Check out Summit or JEGS.

 

A quick search found this.  Not sure if they fit, have to go to ARP site to make sure.

Go to your local hardware store.  Easier and less expensive.  Paint them black if you dont want to see the silver.  They're not high stress bolts.

If you have a U pull it salvage yard.  You can go there and pull them off a wrecked Silverado/Sierra.

The stock cover from GM comes with new bolts.
