2022 Custom Trail Boss LTD L3B 2.7 Turbo 4 popper which cruises on 2 cylinders. 

50,202 miles, 5200 miles on Delo 600 ADF 10w30, Luber-Finer 10066 oil filter. Consumed 24 ounces of oil topped up @4200 miles. 

Refilled with 5.5 qts Delo 600 ADF 10w30 OReillys micro guard MGL 10351 made in Vietnam installed. 
 

Ran 1 bottle Amsoil PI on last gas fill before oil change. 
Oil usage after top up stopped in last 1000 miles. 
Driving back and forth from VA hospital in Denver @ 75 MPH  and 550 miles of distance round trip. Also mud snow ice 4WD for real up here. 
This Delo 600 has NO ZDDP in it and is not full synthetic but a blend.

Worse as percent of fuel used. .3251%.  Better mileage.

I wasn't trying to be cute. I'm cheap and the HPL EC is cheaper than quarts of VR&R because I had some on hand. Still have a few left. When they run out, I have a jug of odds and ends to get rid of. No science involved

March into April was a slow month?  

Everybody figured the end of the world (eclipse) was coming, so they didn't have to change oil anymore?

Surely Grump had to do another drain and fill on Dizzy again by now?

Myself, I've got Valvoline R&R lined up for May.

Posting in Dizzy's build thread. I was just taking up space here.  posting ever few weeks. 

 

A few days ago, another rinse and repeat at 241,000 miles. Changed the filter and oil. More Valvoline R&P 5W30 on 1K OCI's. Monitoring usage. Got some carbon grit in the last filter. No idea what that means.

2015 GMC Terrain AWD Ecotec 2.4

 

1K OCI. 14 Oz makeup oil

 

5-quarts Valvoline R&P 5W30. No filter this time. Only 1K on the last one. 

 

9,430 miles using this oil. After usage getting worse for few changes, it recovered and is now holding steady lower but not earth moving. 

 

At this OCI it is just a bit over a quart in 2K and holding. Push the OCI and it does get worse. 

 

Tell ya what. I'd be upset if it were new and using at this rate but at this number of in service miles, I can do this for a very long time.

FYI, as of last week, select Walmart stores are now carrying the new Valvoline Restore & Protect motor oil in stock (formerly was shipping only) at the reduced price of $29.97 for a 5-quart jug and $10.77 each for individual quarts.
