TXGREEK Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 Btw, the Ridge Grapplers tend to be a on the heavier side, affecting acceleration and breaking as well as mpg’s. A highly rated AT tire amongst a lot of all weather folks on here are raving on the grip of the Falkens.

But it's a LT.But the Falkens is my top pick for now.Which is the direction I want to go no more LT's for me. I did notice some vibrations about 70 mph on k02 LT. Not sure if it's the tires or the truck...lolSent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

midwestdenaliguy Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 I had the same experience with my BFG KO's as you did. Snow and dry traction was great but for some reason they struggled in rain. I put on the Falken Wildpeak AT3W's (275/70r18) about 1500 miles ago and they've seen everything - dry, snow, sleet, rain. Hands down the best tire I've ever owned, grip is amazing, they have an aggressive look, and it's one of the best priced AT tires. Definitely in your $850 budget.
O_J_Simpson Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 No issues at all here. Sounds like you bought a used truck with these tires on them. I bet someone jacked with the throttle response.
MY164X4 Posted December 20, 2018 Author Posted December 20, 2018 Today I drove the truck in 4wd in the rain to Nashville and the truck never had any wheel spin, so I switched to 2wd and the truck was all over the place in the rain .4wd made a big difference in the rain with my shitty ko2 tires..Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I wasn’t happy with my KO2’s either, switched to Nitto Ridge Grapplers, thousands of miles later and the rest is history. How many miles on the KO2’s? It’s the strangest thing, I loved my KO’s but disliked the new KO2’s, they needed lots of weight in order to balance out and also vibrated at high speeds.

Tires came with the truck plenty of tread left. 16 SLT, 4wd. Worse tire in the WORLD... Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk Nice truck! I haven’t had any issues with my KO2’s and it rains a lot here in Florida. Wonder if you somehow got a set that ended up with a harder compound? I doubt it but even with the 6.2 I’ve not ever had slippage without doing it intentionally. TXGREEK listed some good options, and his picture with the Grapplers makes me wish I’d shopped a little more ?
MY164X4 Posted December 21, 2018 Author Posted December 21, 2018 Not sure of the mileage they looked very new when I purchase the trk with 38k miles now I'm @ 65k, I do think the previous owner use to go mudding in the trk, I can still see mud up under the trk after I attempted to pressure wash the under carriage, I don't think mud playing can damage tires or not?TXG, helped me out with the tire selections I sure appreciate it. Thanks for the complement on the trk.I luv my trk it's my second wife gets all my money and time. ..Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Personally, I switch out tires often just for peace of mind. After cleaning your undercarriage spray on this stuff. Make sure to have cardboard under the areas you intend to spray cause it’ll drip and stain your driveway (learned that the hard way) and it’ll give excellent added protection from road grime and protection from rust.

RDKILL Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Great info especially since I'll need a set of tires soon. Has anyone ever tried Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac 275/55/20?
