This may be a dumb question, but I have seen people say they rub in reverse.  Why would you rub in reverse but not going forward?

When you move forward, think about the approach angle as torque is applied. Your front kind of lifts up a little taking off due to the weight transfer if that makes sense. Then reverse that effect going in reverse which transfers the weight in the other direction, which makes the front end dip a little.

Looks perfect. x2 for me on holding off on leveling mods. You still happy with the Toyo's on the stock suspension and rake? I'm looking to do the same on mine.

I went very slight on the "oversized" part. From the stock 275/65-18 to a Ridge Grappler 275/70-18. Subtle yet slight. Works for me.

Yes, I have 4000 miles on it now and am extremely pleased. These Toyos are exceptional.

Thats great. Thanks for the update. I guess my last question is clearance when in reverse as others with other tires have seen with the 295/70/18 size. Still no rubbing for you? Appreciate the feedback!

To me this is perfect for a non leveled or lifted trail boss. I also have an 06 silverado lifted that I was running 315/70/17's (35's). The truck has 4.10 gears and ran well with them. I dropped down to 285/70/17's (33's) this past fall, and I couldn't believe how much power I lost running the 35's! The truck is so much more responsive now. I will never go back to the 35's. 

That is the main reason I won't go bigger than a 275/70/18 on my trail boss. I don't want to lose the power!

Did you go with XL load range or E?  Looking at similar size for 20 inch wheels and have the XL or E option for that size (but not any bigger).  Just don't want to add super heavy tires if I don't need it

They are E’s.    Not overly heavy but heavier than the DuraTracs.

Almost no rub. Tire kisses felt liner at full lock.

Nice. With your spacers, how far do the tires sit outside the fenders? Do you have a picture looking straight on so you can see how far the tires are sitting outside the wells? Thanks!

NO rub at full lock going forward, only a bit of rubbing at full lock in reverse on the mud flap and juuuust a tad on the felt fender liner. Haven't gotten around to playing with spacers or doing any trimming, but I'm sure anyone with just a bit of experience would make light work of getting rid of the rubbing all together.

Was your Trail Boss completely stock with the 295/70 18's?  Picking up an identical truck on Friday and want to upsize the tires ASAP.  Any rubbing or was cutting required?

Do you mind giving an update: with the 295/70 18's  Is this a completely stock truck?  Did you end up having to cut the flaps or front air dam support?
