Constant Metal To Metal Squeek

Recommended Posts

I own a 92 gmc sierra 1500 extended cab z71.

When I drive there's a constant sound like 2 metal parts rubbing together. It sounds like brakes but I am absolutely certain it does not need new brake pads. I can take a video if that will help but I'd likee some help narrowing down what this may be and how to fix it. It's coming from driver's side and probably the rear.

If it only does it when moving, brakes or something rubbing driveshaft. If it happens not moving, bearings in alternator, water pump etc.

Oops! Lol I forgot that important detail. It's only while moving.

Do you drive on gravel roads? Could be a small rock caught between a rotor & backing plate....it's happened to me.

Good call, I will check for this as well. It definitely has seen it's fair share of gravel roads.
