Question regarding current sales offer

Good evening,

Long story short - The dealership I am currently working with is willing to apply some type of manufacturer credit to make the deal happen. Can someone please explain what these are if not just a gimmick to make it seem like it’s a better deal?

Thanks

Never heard of it.  That doesn't mean it's not legit, just not familiar with it.  Any way, who cares.   If the price ends up right for you, buy it.

There are promotion programs /credits offered by the manufacturers.  Different times viewed on of the sheets while sitting in dealers office. But not all will tell you what the manufacturer is putting into a deal.

Some programs are advertised by radio/tv/print, some are not.

They can and do change monthly and there are different 'programs' on different vehicles.

(Might be on different models, or different trims or different option packages)

I have had conversations where a dealer 'suggested' that we wait a few days til we found out what the next months program would be .... and other times they said they were worried the next months program wouldn't be as good.  Bullshit or guesses or they knew but didn't say -- I don't know which.

But I have seen the sheets, and have had a dealer need to consult it because the program was not the same for all models/trims/finance methods.

At the end of the day, I fully agree with 'Mike GMC', doesn't matter where they get the discounts/credits/number from. It only matters if the deal makes buyer and seller happy.

Its probably a rebate. They just apply it to the discount you're already getting. Don't be afraid to ask.

And if it's a 2018 you should be getting at least $12,000-$14,000 off the sticker. If less than that keep shopping.

Man you guys are quick! Thank you everyone. So it sounds like the credits are just the dealer applying more of a discount to the gm supplier discount and 2018 model rebates.

I've never heard of a "manufacturer credit".  Maybe your dealer is just using a different term to describe rebates/incentives.

There are a lot of incentives right now, as well as big dealer discounts, on the 2018s as GM wants to get them off the lots.
