My question is,I was looking at my buddies multi pro tailgate and thought what if you go get a load of gravel or dirt all that falls down in those folds? Seems like you could not get it out and would fill it up.

You’re right, Disaster in the making. It’s already a pain dealing with getting gravel or even grass with dirt out after hauling sod, imagine with that tailgate.

You must not be familiar with marine rated speakers. There are folks that leave their boat in the elements 24x7 and their tower speakers are in the elements all the time. My tower speakers get the good life (garaged boat). I have a buddy on Lake Norman where his neighborhood has a common boat slip area and they don't allow shelters, so it sits on the lift with just a boat cover and his tower speakers are out all the time (he keeps speaker socks on them). Year after year they work great (WetSounds REV10's...pretty much the loudest tower speakers you can buy).

Epic boats put several speakers in the transom of the boat, where water hit them every time the boat stopped. I don't love the design but it was their way around tower speakers and it worked.

Everything I have mentioned above is FAR more abusive than some speakers inside a tailgate.

Betting on they’re not “epic” speakers coming from GM and installed in a tailgate that is abused by all sorts of things including gravel, dirt, bricks and all sorts of building material. It’s a pain just getting sod left overs out of each and every crevice.

When you got 80k “invested” into your new transformer you can afford 20 bucks to rent a Uhaul trailer for the day to haul your rock home or grass clippings across town to the free dump site as to not dirty up your new toy...

That is always my plan, had over 4000 lbs. in a 2000 lb. trailer. when we redid our driveway at the ocean. Have hauled a lot in those trailers over the years, $19.95 plus tax, can't beat it.

Who is paying 80K for these? I can pick up a brand new '19 Denali Ultimate for 55K out the door plus tax.

Like others have stated, I don’t think anyone buying the Denali will be using the bed, much less put gravel or dirt in it. The most action that bed will see is groceries and maybe some wood from Home Depot.

Yeah was being a smart azz but if you notice I said invested not paid. It’s safe to say at least 60% of truck owners ain’t driving around in bone stock trucks. So if you buy something for X amount then add things that cost X amount and you add those amounts together that is what you have invested into said thing...

Like others have stated, I don’t think anyone buying the Denali will be using the bed, much less put gravel or dirt in it. The most action that bed will see is groceries and maybe some wood from Home Depot.

I’ve towed with my 18 SLT Pwemium 6.2, many bags of concrete, lots of lumber, sod and towering bags of mulch, furniture, motorcycle, moped, tree limbs etc etc. The one thing I will “NEVER DO again is go through muddy roads unless I absolutely have to, it’s absolute hell to clean off!
